This post-apocalypse sounds serene and peaceful rather than dark and despairing. Will we all finally find peace of mind in the shambles of civilisation?

The only peace people would find would be those who died during the apocalypse not having to face the aftermath. Could you imagine the hell life would be after the collapse of civilization? I think everyone is looking at this in an idealized way rather than how awful it actually would be...Sure life is terrible in many ways right now but it would be far worse with a collapse.

What makes us important? Our intelligence? I believe in alien life so I'm sure having intelligence is not a weird thing in the universe (there even are very intelligent animals here on earth). I think we are not worth saving simply because of what we've done to the planet and the species on it (leading them to extinction), so the world will be a better place without us (that's what makes us unimportant).

Dear Diary, It has been exactly 5 years since the accident, 5 whole years. I can't believe how long I've been alone for. I left to search the ruins of the city today, first time I've gone outside in 2 months. I don't know why I left though, I have enough food and water in the caravan with me to last for at least another month. I guess I just thought there could still be a chance of another survivor out there, or at least some form of life. As i stepped out of the caravan this morning, the air was so cold, so dry, so... dead. The hill was full of deceased trees and bushes, I don't know why I used the word deceased, I've never liked it.I stumbled down the slope after only a few paces downwards and accidentally cut my ankle on a rock as I was leaving, I still need to clean that up to make sure it doesn't get infected later. As I entered the ruins they seemed even emptier than the last time I went down there, a silent hell. I still remember how full of life the city was, before the accident at least The crumbled buildings used to be thriving apartment blocks The abandoned park used to be filled to the brim with energetic kids The streets filled with rubble and skeletons used to be where i would walk home from The imploded school used to be a chaotic madland of teenagers The very hill I live on now used to be mine and Isabel's secret spot, an escape from the busy world around us. I miss Isabel. For some reason I visited the school today, still looked exactly how I last saw it; two story building, flattened to the ground with some sort of eeriness to it. Kind of makes sense due to the fact it took the lives of hundreds. I can only imagine the horror my friends had to go through in their final breaths. (I'll finish this later)

The situation never changed but the virus got worse. after the first outbreak, the people who died on the street because of the virus started walking again . I never thought that this scene would actually happen and I am one of those lone survivors. The experience I gained from games and things I saw in movies made me this far . The only thing you'll hear is the sound of the wind , cans and plastics being blown away. I don't know when this will end, but I miss the old days where you could just work, play and sleep . I see a horde of these idiots walking towards me from a distance, so I'm going to wrap things up . I'll try to survive until someone, somewhere makes a vaccine and ends this hell . POV: the world has become a wasteland. Barely any forests or plants that aren’t in desert-like areas are nearly completely gone, with the remaining ones rapidly disappearing. You’ve been out on the road for quite a while, feeling like you can’t go on anymore. Everything looks the same, ahead of you and behind you. But then, you find an old, run-down huge building. A laboratory. Reluctantly, you decide to walk in, feeling the surprisingly cool air surround you. You continue through the lab, finding that they had done all sorts of tests on the wasteland, and that there was no explanation for it all happening. The only thing this did was make your mood worse. But something catches your eye. You turn to it, and see four flowers blooming next to a small oasis. Life is thriving well in this wasteland. It shows that there’s still hope - hope for the world, and for you.

Maybe we should have given up on our personal desires, instead of giving up on each other. Now we are all lonely slaves and desire is our master.

Darkness. You never really know a dark night until there's no lights. When the lights from your streetlamps die out and your batteries run dry; in absolute silence does fear truly lie, but most importantly... Darkness seeks light, even the smallest bit. Protect your light.

I was listening to this at that odd moment just before night hits and dawn leaves, all the birds were flying home, the sun sort of already left and a small ginger cat was sat in the light of a street lamp. I learnt further out my window and the cat stared at me, don't know why but for a good quater hour me and the cat were just staring at eachother. The moon was a really thin crescent shape, the whole situation was pretty unsettling and eerie but kind of nice in some way or another, never experienced anything quite as odd. Don't know why I had to tell the story but I guess I just did.

As you slowly walk through the decrepit mall, your hands gripping the pistol you found off the dead cop back in the alley. To the point where it's almost painful, you wonder and hope that your alone in the vast emptiness that was once filled with sounds of happiness, children laughing, teenagers going from shop to shop with friends, adults catching up with old friends and family alike, now the only sound is the sound of the wind blowing through the holes and cracks of the old building, with a small hint of water leaking from God knows where, ignoring all this you just hope that your alone, for once a place you can rest, without having to hide, run, or fight whatever remains of humanity, 7 years, 7 long, blood filled and agonizing years of running, trying to survive, for what?, humanity is nothing but a choking fire, gasping for air, 7 years since someone finally decided to hit the big red button, and took the world with him. No one can remember who struck first, I guess at this point. It doesn't really matter, the world has moved on, humanity is nothing but ashes and smoke, the wildlife have started to recover. Various animals have started wondering the now dead, ghostly streets, much like the pandemic of 2020 14 years ago. You keep an eye on your radiation levels, you got lucky, a geiger counter wasn't cheap back in the day, then again, money doesn't matter now either, so. How lucky are you?. No sign of radiation, good thing to, hospitals were the first to suffer, even before the nukes and EMP's. After walking for a while you break from your thoughts, seeing an old fountain in the middle of the mall, with a medium sized white tail deer, a female from the looks of it, you aim your gun. Flick the safety off, and the deer bolts out a destroyed wall faster then you can blink, damn it. You forgot the safety again, this time it cost you a meal, next time it might be your life, but at this point, which one is worse?. Frustrated, you sit on the cracked fountain in defeat. And you listen, no thoughts, no distractions. It's dead silent, you sit, enjoying this silence. Before all the chaos and madness, you never really sat to listen to what the world had to say, this was the first time you actually sat down, and just listened. It's calming, almost with a sense of serenity. No cars, no phones, no work, no stress, no more worrying about rent, no more worrying about your boring 9-5 job, no more politics, nothing, just peace. But at what cost?, now the world is an empty shell, just like you. Now that you listened, you discover that maybe you, are not so different from this hollowed paradise, you wanted peace from the very beginning. And now, you, and the world finally got what you wanted.

No one knew when the Apocalypse ceased, when normality began to seep into our lives. Albeit nothing is the same as it was before, you can feel more despair from the people around you and sometimes you find pockets of nature within these concrete jungles that were not there before. Sometimes it feels like we never truly survived, that we lost a part of ourselves during all the chaos. Is this what it's like to survive? To survive where others have died? A question I hope never has an answer. Now I lay against the grass and peer up to the star lit sky. Hoping to find myself from all that has happened.

Bro, I don't usually write dystopian stories, but I have attempted to. Here's an idea that I attempted to write, but I feel you'll do better: it's 2052, and humanity has still been stuck in Renaissance-like era ever since it started due a unique strand of the bubonic plague. Every single mass production factory has been transformed to create medicine to lessen the effects of the plague. Despite the mass production, people still wage war over it and other necessities. There are many different groups of people that behave differently than others. Like people that seek to aid others and protect them, people that are highly aggressive and shoot anyone who has supplies, or people who stand only for themselves and try to limit conflict. The world is on a see-saw of civilized life and complete anarchy. It is only a matter of time before something drastic happens. Good or bad.

Оставались секунды до полного забвения и эти секунды имели именно такой голос...
