@@aquepaique I think he means it has all the same elements, instead of having to omit some, like how some of Wardruna's songs are impossible to reproduce faithfully live. All too often, live shows are just loud and degraded versions of studio albums and you are paying to see the artists stand in a row on the podium and play their instruments and sometimes they yell something at the audience!!11oneone. Heilung is one of the few bands I know of where the live version is unambiguously richer than the studio version and you are absolutely missing out by not going to a live show.

Trust (English translation) Once sat women, they sat here, then there. Some fastened bonds, some impeded an army, Some unraveled fetters: Escape the bonds, flee the enemy! Then first I will chant thee The charm oft-tried, That Rani taught to Rind; From the shoulder whate'er Mislikes thee shake, For helper thyself shalt thou have. (I wash off the hatred of my enemies and the theft and anger of rich men.) Then next I will chant thee, If needs thou must travel, And wander a purposeless way: The bolts of Urth Shall on every side Be thy guards on the road thou goest. (I wash off the hatred of my enemies and the theft and anger of rich men.) Then third I will chant thee, If threatening streams The danger of death shall bring: Yet to Hel shall turn Both Horn and Ruth, And before thee the waters shall fail. (I wash off the hatred of my enemies and the theft and anger of rich men.) Then fourth I will chant thee, If come thy foes On the gallows-way against thee: Into thine hands Shall their hearts be given, And peace shall the warriors wish. (I wash off the hatred of my enemies and the theft and anger of rich men.) Then fifth I will chant thee, If fetters perchance Shall bind thy bending limbs: O'er thy thighs do I chant A loosening-charm, And the lock is burst from the limbs, And the fetters fall from the feet. (I wash off the hatred of my enemies and the theft and anger of rich men.) Then sixth I will chant thee, If storms on the sea Have might unknown to man: Yet never shall wind Or wave do harm, And calm is the course of thy boat. (I wash off the hatred of my enemies and the theft and anger of rich men.) Then seventh I chant thee, If frost shall seek To kill thee on lofty crags: The fatal cold Shall not grip thy flesh, And whole thy body shall be. (I wash off the hatred of my enemies and the theft and anger of rich men.) Then eighth will I chant thee, If ever by night Thou shalt wander on murky ways: Yet never the curse of a Christian woman From the dead shall do thee harm. (I wash off the hatred of my enemies and the theft and anger of rich men.) Then ninth will I chant thee, If needs thou must strive With a warlike giant in words: Thy heart good store Of wit shall have, And thy mouth of words full wise. (I wash off the hatred of my enemies and the theft and anger of rich men.) Once sat women, they sat here, then there. Some fastened bonds, some impeded an army, Some unraveled fetters: Escape the bonds, flee the enemy! (Apologies for any mistakes; I did this more for myself but enjoy🤍)

Somos poderosos guerreiros extra universal adormecidos encantados, aprisionados no mundo material.

I love heilung, but it's 100% modern. There is nothing resembling ancient music. It's modern spirituality that people greatly misunderstand. You ask any member of Heilung and they'll tell you it's just modern music meant to evoke specific emotions relating to euphoria and other emotions associated with spiritualism (and they do a damn great job). If you want more authentic ancient music, listen to Farya Faraji. His is about the closest you'll get to recreating ancient and medieval music.

We don't even know exactly how old Norse musoc sounded,to be able to replicate it perfectly for historical accuracies sake. Of course you can hear modern inspirations here, but the key difference is, that certain sounds and beats are not made like they would be in modern pieces. I personally prefere Wardruna in general, but if I need something way more meditativr I tend to listen to stuff like Heilung. Personally I'd just find it cooler if more of those bands would give wearing matching clothes a try aswell, instead of having mostly this black and gray dark neo hippie aesthetic. Iron age fashion especially from northern Europe has so much more to offer colour wise and can be quite creative.

@@Thareldis we have a decent idea of how it sounded based on what instruments were popular at the time. Alongside with surviving lyrical books, folk tradition and other stuff. I was there. It was my first ritual and I was shocked by what was happening down on the stage. For a few minutes I went through this internL battle: “Did I just witness a human sacrifice?!?” “Yes, I did.” And when the emotion passed, I thought it through. She came to the sacrifice willingly, she wasn’t a victim. The shaman obviously loved her, and he had to kill his love - if anyone was a victim it was him. And the Goddess freed the warrior’s spirit: she walked in Power. Sad for the village, sad for the shaman, joyous for the warrior. Sehr Interessante Beobachtung. I've listened to this about 30 times since yesterday. I will 100% be at your show the next time you are in America, I don't care if I have to drive a few hours or get a plane ticket. Totally in love with the music, the concept, all of it.

I loved this song from the album, but this performance live out shown the rest of the show for me, just the weight and visceral nature stuck in my mind for months afterwards.

This concert had the most unbelievably beautiful energy I’ve ever been apart of, the cheers, the tears and the singing amongst the crowd was unlike anything I’ve experienced before. So excited for the full release of the footage, how special my favorite song is the first!

I remember that moment from a show in Glasgow a couple years ago because the spear was bound too tight and Maria couldn't pull it out. Heilung rituals are unique experiences and I love to see them again

Seeing this live counts as one of the most spiritual experiences one can partake during their waking life, and the closest to the Old Gods we've been in centuries, bow down.
