This video was originally released on March 19, 2020, as part of Yo-Yo Ma’s #SongsOfComfort project, which was launched at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic to provide comfort in a time of anxiety and fear. The project inspired thousands of people around the world to upload their own songs of comfort in the months that followed.

I became a cellist because of Yo-Yo Ma. When I was 10 years old, I saw his concerto performance of Tchaikovsky. His performance seemed very easy, so I thought it was easy to play the cello and decided to become a cellist. Yo-Yo Ma fooled me. But I still want to meet him and still want to play cello well. I love yo-yo ma.

When I was 7(ish), I saw 2 Cellos' performance of Thunderstruck, and I also saw Yo-Yo Ma's performance of The Swan and I decided to be a cellist but it was harder than I thought, so I kept trying, and now I'm 12 years old and now playing Vivaldi Sonatas.

almost 10 years ago, YoYo Ma came to my town and performed a concert, I went there... that was a great experience and incredible moment. sometimes I still think about that memory... and I was really young and I really fell in love with him and his music (as a big teenage fan back then) now I am 50 years old... but still, I am a big fan!
