This is called blue-eyed soul. These guys were the best. Bobby Hatfield with his beautiful tenor voice & Bill Medley with his deeper voice. They were magic together. And remember this is done live. No auto-tuning crap like today. And the songs had meaningful beautiful lyrics. They had a lot of great songs such as "(You're My) Soul & Inspiration", "Just Once In My Life", "Unchained Melody", "Ebb Tide", "Rock & Roll Heaven" etc.

I salute you sir for being a true reviewer who listens to to whole song before making any comments. The other so called reviewers could take a lesson from you and stop continuously interrupting the song to make some useless comment. Keep up the great work.

Thank you for not chopping up the song. The Righteous Brothers were beyond smooth. No auto-tune going on with them. They owned it.

You gotta react to Bobby Hatfield's live solo performance of Unchained Melody (he's one of the Righteous Brothers, the one with the blonde hair)

Fell in love with these guys when they came out in 1964. I was in high school and had to go out and buy their vinyl records. I still have them. 💞💞💞

Thank you so much for your consideration. Most of the reactors are always pausing during the song and at the best parts of the song. Let it play through. How can you get the best from a song if you keep interfering. So thank you again.

Phil Spector was a master at using crescendo and The Wall of Sound. The Righteous Brothers were the perfect medium for his talents. The perfect storm of talent in one song.

In addition to the Righteous Brothers, there were so many groups which began in the 1960s that are still popular today, such as The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Simon & Garfunkel…just to name a few.

What you have ro realise here, is that this is "Live". No lipsyncing here, no autotune. React to these guys (actually it's just the blonde one "Bobby Hatfield") singing "Unchained Melody". It's one of the best live recording ever. 👌

Live performances don't trail off at the end the way this one does - it's a lip sync.
@Aurora-tp3dy
@Aurora-tp3dy 2 жыл бұрын
@@unknownrider3071 No, it wasn't lip-synced performance. It was a live performance on Shindig. (Just by the way, The Righteous Brothers were Shindig regulars from the pilot episode.) In this video, someone replaced the live audio with the studio recording. The actual live performance is available on KZbin, screaming girls and all.
@unknownrider3071
@unknownrider3071 2 жыл бұрын
@@Aurora-tp3dy They sang the song in such a way it exactly matched the studio recording? I found the video you mentioned and we never see the audience with the performers, only separately. TV shows back then (I'm old enough that I watched those shows when they first aired) added applause and laugh tracks to lip-synced performances.
@Aurora-tp3dy
@Aurora-tp3dy 2 жыл бұрын
@@unknownrider3071 Sorry, but Shindig was live with a house band, house background singers and a live and very loud audience. Of course, they didn't focus a lot on audience. The TV audience wants to see the performers, not the audience, but you certainly hear them, and sometimes see them . This isn't Bandstand or other Dick Clark shows where the performances were indeed lip synced. Don't really care if you believe it, but I'm writing this for others who might come across this discussion. This is the actual performance. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZmTMhIigfcaIrrs Edited to add the complete Shindig episode, including commercials. 🤣 kzbin.info/www/bejne/kGnFq5Zqnrxkpqs

Speaking of artist's covering other artists, here's another song that was very famously covered. I think you will probably recognize it "Bruce Hornsby & The Range - The Way It Is (Official Video)" I personally don't understand what the big deal is about artists covering other artists stuff. Music has been passed down for centuries. Sharing music has been taught in schools and was done among musical families as a way to keep their family lineage alive. 🤯anyway (I digress) nice reaction👍🎶

Speaking of samples... Nate Dogg & Warren G 'Regulate' sampled heavily Michael McDonald's 'I keep forgettin' Michael sang background vocals on Nate Doggs/Warren Gs song. They all understood the assignment-Artistry of Audio Experience. When youre an authentic Artist honing your craft, you recognize & respect other Artists becuz you can see what effert they put in and the soul that went into their work. Genre doesn't matter. Age doesn't matter. Appearance doesn't matter. Era doesn't matter. ❤
