Greetings Craig! Sounds great and the chords sound terrific! Today I just ordered the SP 4200 because the sound seemed superior over many different brands and price categories that I have been listening to the past 2 days. This new model sounds a little inferior to the 4200 but that's just my opinion. I am relearning piano playing with my grandsons and decided on a keyboard instead of investing in a piano for a number of reasons. You should be a salesman for Medeli! Thanks and take good care!

Hi Craig, great playing, and singing! Hope to play this someday. Loved your SP201/ DP-28 plus review and comparison. Thanks for that. I'm seriously considering this digital piano to start learning the keyboard/piano. I really need the 5-pin midi out, and good on board speakers for quick sit-down and practice. Also looking at the Kawai ES110 for 200 more, which has great graded key action and better piano sounds. Have you tried the Kawai? How is the key action on the DP-28/201?? Can you comment on the weighted keys and the on board speakers please? This might help me decided between the two. Thanks!

Hi Arun, thanks for your comment. I think the Kawai ES110 is a perfectly good keyboard; I remember looking at one a while ago - I think the only thing that put me off was the lack of 'line-in' connection and the investment at the time. I am surprised that it doesn't support USB connection, which is useful if you want to record to a laptop etc (though I guess you could use the older style MIDI connectors). I am happy with the key-action on the SP201 - it feels about right; I have had to play around a bit with EQ settings (via an external mixer) in order to get a piano sound that I am happy with. For the price it is a satisfactory investment - but have you looked into the SP4200 (SP-5600) also? That comes with a lot more features, and the onboard speakers are superior. The speakers on the SP201 are fine, - certainly loud enough at least, but lack depth in the bass and not as good as the SP4200 (see this video link for more info: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hWGpnKqOodytnck) Cheers.
