3 Songs in so kurzer Zeit, die gefallen, da geht was. Lieben Gruß Anja

Hey, I didn't get a notification about this video in my YT app! That's BS! Anyway... I like the vocal melody in the beginning. Changing major chords into minor (and vice versa) can sound really cool. Seems like a good song. The drums are a bit weird, though. That snare feels to much, too forward, too in your face, too loud, too dry and to subdued. I feel that it would feel much better with a real analogue snare drum or a different sample. I wish the snare was a little bit fatter, more like a Motown snare (Al Green song Love and Happiness) or like the Chicago sound of Curtis Mayfield in the song Pusherman. That snare is not as fat as in the Al Green song, so that sound would probably fit better. It's sharper, but not as thin as in this Lenny Kravitz song. But no we're talking about production choices. :) EDIT: I think some artists would let me produce their albums, or at least a few songs. I know what I like, which is not necessarily what's popular in the mainstream, but I trust my judgment. If it feels good, SOOO good, then it's the right thing, regardless of what's being pushed in the mainstream.

KZbin had problems showing me the analytics for two days, I‘m guessing your notification error has to do with that.

@@letstalksong Yes, it was in my feed/recommendations. I usually get a notification, but I guess that there was something wrong with my YT app.

If you had to rate the song out of 10, what would you give it? For me I agree with all your points regarding the unique flavour of the song, as well as the interesting use of percussion, but I don't like how conventional the structure is. Lenny Kravitz's first album, Let Love Rule, is for sure my favourite of his and one of my all time favourite albums. And while I do enjoy some of his later stuff, I feel like his overuse of average sounding instrumentals really tarnishes him as a songwriter for me. I look back at the 'Let Love Rule' sax instrumental or the 'Mr. Cab Driver' and 'I Build This Garden For Us' guitar solos. They feel earned which is a component he lacks in some of his instrumental parts. While I don't mind the one played in Human, it really doesn't have any impact on the song because it doesn't extend into the following chorus, and, as you mentioned, it is one chord and really isn't anything special. I don't think Lenny has ran out of ideas over the years, but when it comes to the smaller aspects of his music, they can be non-existent some times. I'd give Human 8/10 because that's my only complaint. As I said I think Lenny has many good songs, but I think Let Love Rule is his only excellent album, besides the exception of 'Be' which I think is a terrible song. I'm really hoping he can strike that level of gold again with Blue Electric Light. Excellent Review on your end by the way. Shame you don't have a bigger fan base because you clearly know your stuff. You have my sub.

Thank you and welcome to the family. I have a general problem with ratings and grades, so I won’t rate the song, but what I can tell you is that in my opinion it‘s a fun song with the right amount of unusual harmonies to stick around for a while.
