I have a tyros 3 and I have to say it has inspired me to write 2 songs with the most amazing rythms and styles .. the onboard intros and endings can help until you compose your own preference ..amazing fun ..

Well it's just over a year since I very nearly bought a Yamaha Tyros 5 but because of the unforseen circumstanes of a train strike preventing me from being able to get to work causing me to have a massive falling out with my boss on the phone and quitting my job in the heat of the moment that completely smashed my hopes of being the proud owner of this wonderful keyboard. But at least I have Halion 7 and was very lucky to get that at discount because I already had Halion 6 although I did have concern weather or not I would be able to get a new license to run it on my new computer so I never really needed a Tyros 5 in the first place. Oh well 💩 happens!

Interesting stuff. This would have been more illustrative of both process and workstation if it included a play through of at least some part of the what the composer brought into the studio on the workstation.

I was almost sold on buying a Tyros 5 because of this video. But in the end I couldn't afford it and came to the conclusion that arranger keyboards are not intended as a music production tool in the same sense as VST instruments or a Montage or Motif. But for songwriting it's a useful tool. This time last year I was looking forward to doing Shadows covers on either a Tyros 4 or Tyros 5, I was also tempted by the black Tyros 4 and maybe I should have played it safe and bought that and I'm sure I wouldn't have regretted buying it and I know I wouldn't have regretted buying a Tyros 5 but I suppose we can't have everything in life. The only reason I considered buying a Tyros 4 or 5 as a possibility was because I was having problems with my old computer and had some concern weather or not Halion 6/7 would work on the new computer after previously having bad luck with Halion Symphomic Orchestra but fortunately I had no problems getting Cubase Artist 12 and Halion 6/7 working on the new computer. But even if that was the case I would be better off buying a Yamaha Montage or MODX in hindsight plus Yamaha Motif rack modules. My only criticism with Tyros is why they don't make the L7 stand collapsible which was another thing that put me off although some sellers do sell them as a keyboard only, I still considered buying one in a few years after finally deciding no a month ago.

👍🏻 The black T4 is very nice. I have a MODX myself. It is probably all you would need.

​@@followyourpassion8378 Before I almost bought the Tyros 5 I was almost sold on getting an MODX6 but when I left a comment on a video of someone reviewing it when it came out they removed my comment which was what put me off. I'm probably likely to stick with Halion 7 and I also have the full version of Kontakt 6 but I have recently thought about possibly getting either an MODX or a Motif XS if I still wanted a keyboard that is more up to date than my Yamaha PSR-295. Quite a few people have suggested that maybe a synth like MODX or VST instruments Halion 7 and Kontakt are a better choice for recording backing tracks than an arranger keyboard.

Surely if the majority of musicians are taking a flagship arranger workstation keyboard like Tyros 5 from pillar to post wouldn't it make more sense for the L7 stand to be collapsible so that it's easier to transport? I don't get why Yamaha designed the L7 stand so that can't be collapsed or dismantled during transit not that it really matters because the Tyros 5 I very nearly bought didn't come with a stand as it didn't say in the description anything about a stand being included so I asked the seller just to make sure believing that I would be buying it but the seller confirmed that a stand was not included but I didn't want a stand because I would have used an X type foldable stand that I use with my other consumer level keyboards. But in other comments I already explained why I didn't buy a Tyros 5 in the end but if I had known I wasn't really getting a Tyros 4 or 5 I would have said yes to a Yamaha PSR-400 that my Dad came across in a charity shop but I might get a Yamaha PSR-500 in the future but as I already pointed out both the brass section and the nylon guitar sounds Howard Laravea played on his Tyros 5 in this video are similar if not the same samples to what I already have in the Halion Factory library as part of Halion 7 but to be honest Kontakt by Native Instruments is capible of producing extreamly realistic sounding instruments that blows any keyboard out of the water! As midi sequencing is more my thing there wouldn't have really been any sense in spending 2-3k for the same sort of sounds when in Halion 7 I can have many of Yamaha's Motif Classic, ES and XS samples at just a fraction of the cost of what the original hardware would otherwise cost and without it taking up so much physical space but I do plan to eventually buy Native Instruments Komplete as in the future I will want to upgrade from Kontakt 6 to Kontakt 7 and I know there are also many third party Kontakt brass libraries including NeoBrass and Bulldog Saxophone which sound far more superior than even the brass and saxophone sounds on Genos 2 or Korg PA-5X.

please Yamaha, don't make us laugh. I tried it with a Tyros myself, it was like trying to go around the world on an bycicle for children. The sequencer is incredibly featureless, severely underpowered and unstable. Even 25 years ago it was better, for example on the PSR 8000. Not even children would do 'songwriting' with a Tyros. The Tyros is the best sounding arranger keyboard anywhere, but its sequencer is a joke and the instrument is severely overpriced. Korg puts a far superior sequencer on their keyboards, and the price is lower.

Luigi sir , You really don't get the point.. If he is happy with it that's fine and if you are happy with your Korg , that's fine too.... different people different strokes....
