I’m so sorry I’m just so fucking obsessed with this like the very core of these three’s dynamic is just “I can’t kill you” and “I can’t let you die” and they’ve had so so many situations where they’re put in the position of trying to/having to/being controlled to kill each other but they JUST. NEVER. COULD. Even Dean’s “your dead to me” is so insane because when Cas actually almost dies he’s ON HIS KNEES praying for him to come back. God the ridiculous ass situationships these three men have with each other…

(Last comment on this I swear to God) but the funniest and most ironic part of this (and perhaps the best) is that they never actually could bring themselves to kill each other. Cas couldn’t kill Dean when he was lobotomized, brainwashed, trained, and ordered to do so. Dean couldn’t kill Cas when he was cursed by The Mark and it was part of God’s will (Chuck’s intended narrative-for Dean to be the “ultimate killer”). Cas couldn’t kill Crowley when he betrayed him, even tho he knew Crowley could possibly (and nearly did) fuck up his plan later on. Crowley couldn’t kill Cas and even saved him more than once under the guise of “he’s useful,” even tho he really had no reason to in S12E12. Dean couldn’t kill Crowley when he was nearly human, or when he finally got the first blade, and both times Sam called him out on it. And lastly, Crowley tells Dean he couldn’t kill him when he had mutiple chances throughout the years, some of those Dean didn’t even know about, because Crowley had come to genuinely like him.
