Sonia, you are a great inspiration. I'm studying to be a Travel Agent at Belgrano Univerisity in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I love watching your videos because I can practice my English listening skills, and I can also learn about different touristic places around the world. I'm going to suggest this channel to my classmates. Kind regards from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

I live seven miles away from here and honestly it is a magical place, so many hidden treasures. I should cherish what I have so close to me.

It's always interesting hearing people talk about Oxford. I was born here, I work here, I've never lived anywhere else. The walking tours really do only show a tiny part of the city. Otherwise it really is like anywhere else... Horrendous traffic, crime, poverty, homelessness. The students and tourists do bring in money and business, but generally living here isn't that big of a deal. It's the second most expensive city in the Uk in terms of living costs.

Your video brought back some sweet memories... I went to Oxford to years ago for a language course and spent three wonderful weeks there, but I'll tell you that I could spend my lifetime in Oxford. The place is really magical. Sometimes I even dream about it. Hope to get back there one day... Cheers from Brazil!

Thank you, Sonia for your whirlwind tour of Oxford, England where I was lucky enough to spend 25 years of my life. Your short and wonderful video brought back nostalgic memories, especially as I am away from this unique city now. You should have bicycled at Oxford, lol.

PS Sonia's last bit of advice is to be heeded, when she says, avoid coming here with a group and arrive early or stay on till the end of the day, as the city gets VERY crowded during middle of the day. By the way, New college and the Divinity school are also wonderful attractions and Harry Potter film sites but without the very expensive entry fee to Christchurch and its crazy queues.

"Ordinary students ordinary school" i think you said ?? I really don't think going to school in Oxford can be classed as ordinary with pass students names such as Hawking, Auden, Blair, Boult and the list goes on. Quote: The University of Oxford (informally "Oxford University", or simply "Oxford"), located in the English city of Oxford, is the oldest surviving university in the English-speaking world and is regarded as one of the world's leading academic institutions.

This country is the most boring of Europe. I've visited it, I found nothing to do. London was a crap city like New York. I really prefere Paris and Rome.
@garply1019 жыл бұрын
Doney Hon Well that's subjective. What kind of things do you look to do? London and New York are the world's only Alpha++ cities.
@doneyhon42279 жыл бұрын
garply101 So what? A ranking made on subjective criterion is not better than my subjective opinion. Paris is Alpha+ and third in your anglo-saxon ranking (unfair ranking as always when you see the activity in the big Paris compared to the big London). I'm from Finland and apologize me if I find London boring. Their is nothing to do for a tourist. Perhaps it's fine for a business man from the finance, but for a tourist it's kinda boring. The truth is that Paris is the beginning of a marvelous trip in history. Paris itself is a masterpiece. Each details are different and important. The architecture of London is just utilirian and well... one thing just looks like another thing. Plus, Paris is the center of France and continental Europe with all these good public transports (their is nothing but the taxi in GB to travel in good conditions). France is huge, has a lot of big touristic cities. You can use a car on their autoroute or the TGV to visit them. It's clean and always beautiful from region to region. London is the beginning of nothing. You go to London and...it's finished. The other cities are full of crap and you find nothing but a sad environment and crap roads. People are poor in the countryside of England. A trip to Paris is always a begining of a lot of new things. The countryside are not poor and always gorgeous. Why do you think that France has 84 millions of tourists when UK has only 34. London claims 2/3 of this figure. London is completely overrated. See this intense debate about the most overrated cities in Europe: www.travellerspoint.com/forum.cfm?thread=38655 All are agree. London is overrated. But never Paris. I see you coming with your francophobia, but don't try. I've visited the whole Europe and I know the truth about your country. The false figures from your country are a huge propaganda to hide the truth and the whole Europe knows that London is nothing more than a financial casino center with no taste. A huge part of the city is full of crap. The rest of the country is poor. The living standards in France far higher and you can see it in their cities. I can compare France to Finland about our living standards but not with UK. And we see this gap in the cities...

I'm not reading all that. I really couldn't give a shit to be honest.

garply101 So let me having my personal opinion without commenting it.
@doneyhon42279 жыл бұрын
garply101 I have an inferiority complex... but you insult me. So, who has this inferiority complex. See the figures, your incomes are very small for a finnish like me. Is it the reason why you insult me?
