That cutscene after the Silver boss outlines the problem with Kiyoko Yoshimura's writing style with Sonic. She banks on a certain event as the main thing to keep her stories going over and over and over. In this game, it's Elise getting captured over and over... And in many ways that could be avoided if Sonic just used his head. In Sonic Unleashed it's kinda downplayed, but the Emerald Temple shtick... its the only thing the story has to offer the entire mid portion of the game, with little to nothing else in between. Her Sonic Stories just feel so empty and monotonous because of how she relies on a single thing to carry the story multiple times.

To be fair. when a new character shows up. most of the time they always make them look better than Sonic. it happend with Knuckles, SHadow, Jet and Silver. I don't think it happend with blaze. since she was more of a loner

Yeah, they always do that with new characters for some reason. Blaze the Cat, Rosalina from Mario and Krystal from Star Fox are the only 3 characters I can think of that don't have introductions where they appear superior to the main character. but yet they've become popular.

PolarPhantom Never forget the Barrel Parade. That LP still feels like the best exhibition of why this game is so terrible. Blind players, big Sonic fans coming in with no expectations beyond "these are criticisms every 3D game has gotten, can't be THAT terrible, can it?" The run had minimal glitches, just terrible designs and control that drove them mad. They went back to do one Shadow part in post, and they just SOUND broken.

Sonic's reasoning for going to White Acropolis in the first place really makes you question how the fuck he managed to defeat Eggman before in the past (whether or not if this game was at one point considered a reboot). But game logic for things in the Sonic "canon" has never made complete sense. Also, Clement Hyyyyyyyypppppeeeee!! (He'll never escape this game >:) lol)
