Blast Processing is non-existent on this mobile version of the game. I had played it on my LG Octane phone and it's sometimes painfully slow. Despite that the special stage graphics are higher resolution compared to the Sega Genesis version, it has bad controls and ridiculously difficult. Some of the music sounded slightly better through the use of mobile phone's General MIDI synthesizer. The remastered version of Sonic 2 for iOS and Android is majorly improved (including the special stage) and is very faithful to the original.

Exactly this ^^ Java Mobile phones didn't suport looping of a midi file from a specific point, so you had to create a separate track for the introduction and for the looped section. Inside the data files of the game you can notice that they indeed, made separate tracks.

Wow, this looks amazing. I wasn't aware this game had another better version. This looks so much better than the game that I played. I wonder why I never saw this version in the store since the phone I had was pretty decent. Was this only available for certain phones or did it come pre-installed?

Yep. They even manage to fit Chemical Plant and Aquatic Ruin into here! Honestly, I'm not sure what it is. I think the best bet is that certain kinds of phones get access to different versions in online stores, but it could easily have been handled in some other fashion.

well there's around 3 different versions that I found one is for low end phones one is for mid range ones and one is for high end fliphones

Up is to jump. The other directional buttons are for moving.

1 = Jump left 2 = Normal jump 3 = Jump right 4 = Move left 5 = Select 6 = Move right 7 = Spindash left 8 = Crouch/Roll 9 = Spindash right
