I've organised a collab where we've completed Sonic the Hedgehog 1991 to 100%, it means to all chaos emeralds. In collab were, I am, @Zekann, @DarkShamilKhan and @rodonic01. Collab was organised, because no one optimally did Sonic 1 TAS 100% and didn't publish on TASVideos. Also we used Algar's inputs.

I like how there are a lot of inputs that show-off the kind of character Sonic has, like having him look up at his score while it counts up, styling on Robotnik during boss fights, or having him tap his foot in his idle animation between boss cycles while standing in safety. Kind of like how he acts in the The Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog cartoon. And you beat the game inside the runtime of an episode!

I remember I could not pass Labyrinth Zone 3 for the life of me. I found out accidentally the tried and true 'Up Down Left Right A+C' and would skip it just so I could finish the game, lol. I would always drown before I would reach Robotnik. This was an epic run!

I did an unoptimized Sonic 1 Any% TAS in 09.20 IGT. 100% in 16.42 is very good :) I love the jump strats in the special stages, I never knew about that. Nice job.

Great use of zips and precise platforming. One question I want to ask is about those weird special stage jumps. Sounds as if the TAS jumps ever frame keeping it from being effected by gravity? I’m curious.

Question: does the speedrun timer include the score tallying at the end of the act? If it does, wouldn’t your run save a good number of seconds by waiting until the 30 second mark to clear Green Hill 3, Marble 3, Labyrinth 3, Star Light 3, and Scrap Brain 1? Mayyyybe Green Hill 1 and Spring Yard 1? That way, you only wait out 10,000 time score instead of 50,000, which seems to add 6-7 seconds or so. For acts that are completed between 0:24-0:29, it seems like that’s costing time rather than saving. Sorry for my ignorance if this is incorrect.

If you press no buttons, Sonic will automatically tumble into the room with the Chaos Emerald. You still have to get the emerald yourself though.

On levels that you can end at around 27-28 seconds, would it make more sense to finish at 30, since it takes longer to tally 50k points vs 10k points?
