Yes Mirage Saloon is a zone that created from the scrapped Dust Hill Zone of Sonic 2 and if you take a look on every bar in Mirage Saloon, there is a blue bottle with the letters SH2 on it. The creators of the game, made this bottle as a reference on Dust Hill. The SH2 letters are representing “Sonic the Hedgehog 2”

Before this idea there was a plan of time travel like Sonic CD and Desert Hill was supposed to be the past area of the industrial zones. Detective Pikachu helped open that door 🚪 for Sonic to come racing in. A sequel to both films are now on the way while Mario is next in line. So... Smash Cinematic Universe??

I've seen a couple comments mentioning cool details but i seen nobody mention ashura (the glitch hog) appearing when sonic ran past the waterfall in emerald hill, now THATS a cool reference even paying homage to the fact that it was waterfalls in emerald hill that caused the glitch in the first place
