They should have made Chrome Gadget a full main Zone. By the time I played Sonic 3K, I never had anyone to play multiplayer with, so I completely missed out on this theme. IMO it could have come after Launch Base and be the home of Big Arms. Also having the Death Egg falling in the night sky would have been more visually striking with its moon-like appearance and red lights standing out in the dark while also better thematically fitting Chrome Gadget’s environment
@jackoonz4 жыл бұрын
If you compare chrome gadget backround and titanic monarch act 1 backround Or just look at the zones side by side You'll see the similarities because i just realized this yesterday while playing sonic 3 air

It would've been pretty neat, but at least the sky darkens as Big Arms is fought. Also, the DE is plenty atmospheric in Lava Reef.
@cellmate4543 жыл бұрын
I never really had anyone to play the multiplayer with either. So I just ran time attack over and over trying to beat my own times. I did it mainly because of this song, and Azure Lake. So much nostalgia. I think at one point I was able to do 5 laps at Azure Lake in like 14 seconds or something. Had it down to an art lol. Love this one so much that it is currently my ringtone!

This track shares an extremely similar vibe to Hydrocity Act 2, Desert Palace, Carnival Night Act 2 (proto), Launch Base Act 2 (proto), both Lava Reef Acts and the proto competition menu theme. I speculate that Masayuki Nagao did the compositions for all these tracks. They all rely on staccato, chorus effects on the PSG square channels, very similar tempos, and instrument patches. The point is, I'm filled with awe whenever I listen to Chrome Gadget or the aforementioned tracks. They're extremely memorable, emotional, and perfectly capture the environments of the levels. Now, onto this particular theme. Channel 1 and channel 2 mesh together to create a perfect-sounding lead very suitable for a night level. It might just be me, but I associate this specific patch with the serene view of Chrome Gadget. The PSG channels in 3:29 are both so mesmerizing and have this addicting groove that carries the ending verse of the track. The bass in channel 0 pops out so well, thanks to its "slappy" sound. Although the chords in channel 3 and channel 4 are a bit loud, their sound is delightful. tl;dr -- I absolutely LOVE this track.
@axtonganha3 жыл бұрын
First time i realized the prototype version was existed in S&3K Hydrocity, Flying Battery, Chrome Gadget, Carnival Night, Launch Base also Lava Reef Act 2 it was same instrument in Shinobi 3 Return Of Ninja Master also Golden Axe 3 and really thought that all prototype was composed by Masayuki Nagao or Tatsyuki Maeda.
