The bass changes are back! EDIT: A fun little thing to note - The Hydrocity Act 2 bass was actually used for this song in the November 3, 1993 prototype.

The Hydrocity Zone Act 2 Bass actually goes quite well with the instrumental!

Funny enough, I think that's what they used in the prototype version of this tune, albeit a little bit quieter, to my ears at least.

@@supermariobro93 In my personal opinion it sounds better with the instrumental, they should have kept the HCZ2 Bass

Hearing DRMBM's bass patch with this song almost works. It makes me wonder what a heavier Lava Reef would sound like (remix maybe?).

Honestly, it doesn’t matter what the bass how sounds because the song still sounds great. With that being said however, this is an amazing video.

Here are my ratings for each bass change: CKC Basketball: finally a track were this patch works! The nice percussive but not too hard modulation is nice, and the sharp envelopes make the note cuts really clear and allow you to enjoy each note of the bassline as it doesn't fade out at all. Usually this patch kind of ruins a lot of sonic tracks, but here is fares very well. 8/10 Custom Bass: I see you edited this patch since the last time you used it. Now it's modulation envelopes decay a lot faster, and I love how dynamic that makes it sound, really suits this track well. However I still think you could lower the TLs a bit to reduce the excessive high end. It's a bit much IMO and distracts the listener from enjoying the other parts of the song. 6.5/10 DRMBM AKA Puyo Puyo: this patch has consistently fared quite well in these bass change videos and this is no exception. It has just the right amount of everything, it has the funkiness, the grittiness, and the edgy and imposing sort of sound that this track needs. The only thing I think doesn't work that well is how it fades out relatively fast, but that isn't too much of a problem overall. 9/10 Flying Battery 1: Very strong, very percussive, very dynamic, but lacking in grittiness and overall emphasis of the actual note. Works very well for a really fast bassline like in Flying Battery 1, but here it's a bit of a mixed bag. 6.5/10 Marble Garden 1: Interesting how the slap modulation in this one suddenly just cuts out instead of quickly fading. Once that part is over, it becomes a pretty basic and boring bass waveform. The suddenly cutting out modulation is pretty cool, with good use of feedback, but that's pretty much the only notable parts of it. 6/10 Mystic Cave: this patch is pretty good for basslines where the notes last for more than just a millisecond. But here, on the shorter notes it's very hard to hear the actual notes due to it's high modulation, it just sounds like some weird feedback-driven percussion instrument rather than a bass with an actual tone. Still, it's pretty funky other than that. 7/10 Sonic 2 Invincibility: while it's got a good crunch in the beginning, it's hard to hear the actual note afterwards, due to the soft waveform and quick fading out. Still worth hearing for that awesome crunch though. 7.5/10 S3&K Lot of Music: Not bad, it's got a lot of funk and a lot of drive behind it, and it overall just sounds very unique among other FM bass "guitars". It's just that it fades out WAY to fast, preventing you from really enjoying the note. That sort of ruins this version for me. 5.9/10 Hydrocity 2: I really like this one. Really fat sound, evolving waveform, and sustains the note for a long time. Definitely does a great job at bringing our the intended vibe of this theme. It's just a bit lacking in funk. 8.5/10 Vectorman Options: I may be a bit biased here, but I really, really like this one. To me it's like the custom bass but much better. Good amount of, but not too much modulation that fades away quickly but not too quickly, leading to a very dynamic sound, and ending in a nice pure sine wave that provides some nice pure low end. 8.8/10 I hope someone sees this comment because I wasted many precious minutes of my life writing this.

Hey Loving you're videos I wanted to give you a special suggestion that maybe you might like . Sega Genesis X-Men 2 Clone Wars, one of the special things about this game is that when you pick a character they literally all have their own different theme that combines with the Main background music and when you play 2-player it connects the two characters songs together it almost sounds like a different song and I was wondering What would happen if you combine all the characters theme music together that works on the same level. Keep up the great work hope u like the idea :)
