The one thing i always loved about the marble garden level was when you defeated Dr.Robotnik in this level i loved it when the sky goes from clear blue sky to sunset to night..i just loved the variation of color used for that part of the game..very beautiful and detailed

I Don't remember having trouble with this level. The only tricky part would be fighting the act 2 boss as Tails.

Well, I don't think this stage is a Water Temple, but it was still annoying as hell to get through, and then I'd get all nervous cause it's just a bitch to get too him.

Héctor Mayoral-Modestti there is a difference, in water temple you know where to go, the only problem are the iron boots which is no problem in the 3DS remake, but in this level, you don't know where to go, and when you know, you can't, THAT makes it hard.

You know what I love about this song? The staticy sound that is apparent in alot of Genesis games. Only the Genesis could get away with using this kind of sound in their games...

I never knew where I was going in this level. I just kind of winged it and somehow always made it through. I think this stage had my favorite boss fight. I loved how Robotnic destroys the ground and you end up fighting in the air. Unfortunately I always played as Tails solo and I had NO idea that his tails had a hitbox, so it took me forever to figure out how to actually beat this boss as Tails alone.

I love the joggety bassline in this. So springy and stretchy, much like the obstacles in this stage. The chorus strangely reminds me of "I can see clearly now, the rain is gone."

Ice Cap Zone and Hydrocity Zone Act 2 get all the love, but this is up there with them IMO. Love the section between 0:42-0.59.

this stage is where u get to super sonic and where you can glitch by pressing down long enough to move cam then spin while holding down right button to end up travelling through walls and get lost in sort of a weird place where the creators of this game seemed to have put random things in random places. i loved that glitch.

@KingSigy Are you kidding me? All of the old Sonic games have GREAT level design. It's the main reason the old games are so good, and are still fun to play. You could pick up Sonic 3 today, play it for the 53rd time, and STILL find some path, secret, or item you didn't know about in a level. And it would STILL be fun, even playing it for the 53rd time. Compare it to Sonic Rush where you die from cheap traps all the time, there are few branching paths, and there is little replay value.

I find that surprising, because in this zone, I can't always run at my top speed because of all those surprise traps (spike maces, crushers), and tops sometimes don't operate well when you want to explore the level a bit. It's surprising that no one hates this level for it's slower pace (just to avoid all those obstacles).

It's hard to say whether Mario or Sonic is better... It seems like over the years I've kind of forgotten about Sonic, but once I looked into the Michael Jackson part of it, I started listening to the songs and it was so nostaligic. I'm now playing it again, it was the first game I ever played, it'll never really get old, whereas a game like Super Mario World, while great, lacks one thing: replay value.
