When I heard Sonic 3 is only 3-million short of overtaking Detective Pikachu and becoming the second highest grossing video game movie of all time, I decided, as a Sonic fan, I had to do my part and I'd see the film for a 4th time today, I'll be watching a screening in 12-hours time at the time of this post. Honestly, beating Detective Pikachu, that would be enough for me, unlike some overoptimistic people I never expected Sonic 3 to beat Mufasa internationally, it's a very Western-Centric film and IP that is just not culturally relevant in a lot of countries compared to the mass appeal of The Lion King.
