I actually made this video by using two controllers. One controller in each hand. so gameplay might be a little worse than normal lmao. Basically if there's two characters on the screen it means I was using two controllers. Also seriously this mod is amazing. Kell did a 10/10 job once again.

Sonic Heroes but with the fluidness of Adventures controls is a concept that i've always wanted to see explored since I think the control was heroes' biggest issue. I think with the way adventures' physics work however, it'd be better if the levels could be redesigned to fit with them. Other than that, this is a really amazing mod, I love the idea of this a whole lot.

Yeah these levels are really harsh on SA 1 and 2's physics, because brushing your side against walls usually stops your momentum and there's a lot of winding roads with walls. Heroes iirc had more tolerance for brushing against walls, but this led to more deaths from sliding off edges

@Smoll Bro, I like heroes as much as the next guy (it's one of my favorite sonic games) but even then, heroes is probably one of the worst controlling platformers on the face of this planet and if I could get anything different in it's place I feel like it'd improve the game significantly.

xD yeah they all have such good heroes mods that it's hard to tell them apart. This version especially with flying I could see someone just mistaking it for heroes. haha

Oh god my brain was so confused for a moment when i thought it was a heroes mod, then i saw SA1 stuff, then I read title and thought "Oh it's a fusion of SA and heroes" THen my brain wa slike, wait.. it's just SA1 IN Heroes... I guess the benefit of playing these levels this way instead of just playing Sonic Heroes is that the speed characters aren't slippery and actually have a functional spindashes.

Sonic Overtime I still enjoy Heroes as a spin-off and for how its levels and mechanics are built around its self-imposed limitations (and there's still no feeling like pounding Egg Hammers as a power character), but I do wish the main series after Heroes had stuck more with the Adventure 1 & 2 formula, as I think the boost games lost a lot of the precise platforming that made the series enjoyable (not to mention the writing suffering quite a bit). If only '06 had been put thorough more testing and story drafts before release, we might be looking at an entirely different franchise today.

Tbh this is kinda more in line with how Sega wanted it. There were rumors of Sega wanting to do a sonic rpg and the system used for sonic heroes was similar to the fact that you upgraded your attacks for each level you gain up to 3. Now we have this?! Yeah this is definitively awesome

A mod which includes Metal Sonic as a playable character? This once again reminds me of the fact, during the early stages of Sonic Heroes' development Sonic Team planned to make as many team ups as possible one of them being a team with Metal Sonic (speed), Ray the Flying Squirrel (fly, obviously) and Mighty the Armadillo (power).

hmm well in quantity I'd say that probably goes to generations, although alot of them crash on RTX graphic cards which is a bummer since I have one. My personal favorite has been the SA2 mods recently, but SADX has some really cool mods like this as well. idk they all got cool mods. haha

I'd say there's three categories. Rom Hacks and mods of the 2D games, mods of the 3D games, and the rare fan game that gets its own mods. For the 2D games, Sonic 1, 2, and 3K are all interchangeable in terms of code and usability for a hack, so I'd lump them together, but Sonic 2 is the one most people use. 3D games, Generations. Hands down. You have mods much like you do here with SADX that have new characters with modified movesets, and full new stages, but much more plentiful. And the third category is really just for a specific game, Sonic Robo Blast 2. The whole thing is open source, so you can do just about anything with it. Turn it into Mario Kart? Why not? Add 50 new characters? Excessive, but you totally could. I don't think anything has been started for the new major release, 2.2, but 2.1 and 2.0 each have plenty of mods and total conversions to play
