So, a weird note to make, since you mentioned it, I think the voice lines being different for each character route is an English-only thing. Pretty sure the JP voice over uses all the same lines for each scene, no matter which character you're playing. Why would they go out of their way to make the EN lines different? Probably an attempt to make it feel less repetitive.

If they really wanted to make the game less repetitive they should have just removed the fishing.
