It's not too surprising to hear there are mods to make the DX version more like the original, but I wonder how many there are that fix the bugs and issues caused by the DX port. Seeing other people play this version, either they messed up a lot of scripts/physics in the game for the port or the other people I watched just suck at the game. Or both. I don't remember having that many broken moments when I played the hell out of it when I was younger, aside from the Light Speed Attack sometimes bugging out and just making Sonic fly in a circle for a few seconds before ending prematurely.
