I ran into a similar problem while playing on Burning Depths, The section on Lap 2 where you go from Boat to Car the final time, I'm not certain how it happened but i suspect the AI and myself skipped a Trigger so when it came to the Transformation Gate none of us Transformed. Infact, The door just before the Tunnel that heads up and to the left wasn't open, So we were all stuck in Boat Form constantly respawning just infront of the door, I was respawned infront of the door alongside NiGHTS and oddly enough even though i was infront of everyone it still read me as being in 10th position.

Some kind of similar glitch hapoened to me while playing in Pirate Island, where the section when you tranform into a plane in front of the goal didn't work correctly so every one kept falling to nowhere until the time was gone

Uhh, two things. First off, the game came out like three or four days ago. He did not get an early copy. Second, getting an early copy isn't illegal. Maybe on the store's part, but on the customer's part, buying a product that was on sale is not illegal.

You can also do this vehicle in wrong area glitch in another way by restarting as soon as you enter the gate (I find this easier with characters that have transformation particles)

There's actually a glitch (certainly on the Steam Version) that lets you use a boat on land and it handles perfectly, I just don't know how to activate it. I was just doing a single race at Burning Depths, and during the course of the race I wasn't satisfied, so I restarted (while at the boat part). Next thing I know, I'm playing as a Dreamcast Controller on the Road! I've tried numerous times to get it to work again, but have only managed to restart the race with an activated Hot Rod.

I have an explanation to this: On the first few frames of transformation, the game stores the model that’s about to appear during the process. If you let the process occur, things happen as normal. But if you restart during that small window, the stored model will appear as the transformation you were going to transform to before, but it’ll act as if it was on the intended transformation. This ONLY works with characters that have separate models after transformation. (Amigo, AGES, Ralph, etc.) Hope this helped you understand the glitch! I encountered this recently as well on the Xbox Series X backward compatible version. I was going to fly as AGES in Adder’s Lair, but, unnoticeably, I reset the race on the first frames of transformation. And as soon as that occurred, the boat turned into AGES’ stored plane model as soon as it restarted, but the plane acted as it would if it was a boat. It looks hilarious, trust me.

This is similar to the glitch i had today, i was racing as ages on the burning rangers track and instead of starting as the hornet i started off as the dreamcast controller (boat) on land! and it actually drove and drifted around the land parts like a car.
