Amy Rose needs to be in Paramount’s Sonic 3 as it follows the Sonic Adventure 2 Project Shadow storyline. Amy Rose does 3 critical roles in Sonic Adventure 2: 1) After mistakenly hugging Shadow on Prison Island and interrupting Eggman’s mission debriefing, she forces Eggman to pursue her leaving both Rouge and Shadow one person short to perform the mission of collecting the chaos emeralds and setting bombs around the prison. This gives extra time for everyone, very important. 2) Later Tails intervenes Eggman’s pursuit of Amy while saving Amy in the process. Now that Eggman is preoccupied with battling Tails that gives Amy a window of opportunity to break Sonic out of his prison cell before Eggman’s bombs explode. Sonic also battles Shadow afterwards consuming valuable time to rescue Rouge from the prison vault before Eggman’s bombs detonate. 3) As the space colony ARK was on a collision course to crash into Earth it was Amy that spoke to Shadow helping Shadow remember his promise to Maria Robotnik about helping humanity, not harming humanity. Amy Rose became Shadow’s hero that moment which made Shadow change heart from villain to hero and stop space colony ARK from crashing into Earth. To Shadow, Amy Rose was Maria Robotnik and his first true friend. I just hope Paramount adds Amy Rose’s OG quote in Sonic 3… “I know that people fight over the most trivial things. Some people may be selfish like the professor said. But they’re basically good. If they try their best and never give up on their wishes they always have a reason to be happy. While Eggman would be back, he would be the secondary villain. Shadow should be the main villain or at least the main antagonist. Like you said, Amy should be the heart of the movie.

This is one of the reasons I still strongly defend Amy as a character. Yeah some of her portrayals weren’t good after this but she is a Great character with a lot of potential. They just need to give her good writing again.

Imo Amy wouldn’t be as good a character if she was just badass from the very beginning. I personally liked seeing Amy’s independence arc as she acted as kind of the underdog who had to prove herself to the team. And no Amy served far more than an inconvenience. I have an idea for Amys hammer in the Sonic 3 movie (if she's in it.) What if when we first get to see her fight (*any foe/criminal*) she shows us the simple, wooden hammer shown in 2:00 that she made herself. But later on, she ends up breaking it by Shadow. It honestly feels like having Amy be in the 3rd movie is the best option if they follow some guideline of Sonic Battle for Shadow's story with her being the one that frees Sonic from his imprisionment and talks Shadow into helping Sonic save the world in the end. ESPECIALLY since just about EVERYONE hated how they gave her role to Chris in the Sonic X anime and never forgave the creators for doing that to her. So to side track her role for ANOTHER human would just seem wrong, at least have it be her and Tom/Maddie together talk Shadow into being a hero would work as long as she is the one that is leading the speech to turn him good.
