It's because they made him a "big and dumb" trope character Sonic and everyone else was just equally dumb. (This is not to hate on any of them, I actually love this show 😂 Sonic and Knuckles have both done idiotic things throughout the years. This show kind of had a"dumb humor" theme. It wasn't an action show. I really don't even consider it a kids' show. It was a very snarky/self-aware animated comedy. That was its thing, so the characters fit that.)

This is genuinely one of my favorite interpretations of the Sonic gang. Sonic actually acts like a teenager and has a more laid back sarcasm. Amy is intense, bossy, and organized instead of being “the girl” and “has crush on main character”. Knuckles is a sweet himbo who is trying his best. And Tails is still the little brother, but he’s much more confident in himself. Sticks is crazy and wacky, but she doesn’t really have a counterpart, but I still love her anyways Plus the fact that Eggman is more of a frienemy where everyone battles and then they casually grocery shop together the next day is a hilarious dynamic that is almost never used in media Would’ve loved to see what they would’ve done to the rest of Team Dark, Team Rose, Team Chaotix, and the ‘06 gang
