Solesteam Exactly, He attacked sonic because he has mistaken sonic for Jill Valentine, a S.T.A.R.S Alpha Team member. (Nemesis is supposed to kill the S.T.A.R.S Alpha Team.) Or that’s what i think. If nemesis did mistake Sonic for Jill then it’s probably because What if Nemesis cant see that great? Jill and Sonic both wear the color blue. And both have a regular skintone, so if nemesis cant see that great he probably mistakes sonic for jill.
