Two ways. Collect all the (chaos emeralds) Time stones. Travel to the past in Acts 1 and 2 and destroy the robot generators. Collecting all the Time stones will automatically make each zone a good future. Doing the robot generators individually will only make it a good future in that Act. The acts in this game are short but that's because of the exploration element that is required to get the true good ending.

It really depends on the person. Some people love the game, some like it, some hate it. The game itself is a sort of "remake" of the original Sonic CD. This version however is the definitive version of Sonic CD. It sports a much better physics engine making the game play much more fluid than the original sega/mega cd version. Personally it's one of my favorites and has been for a few years, with this version I've found a much better appreciation of the game and it's super cheap ($5)

Sonic CD is one of my favourite games of Sonic. (side to side with sonic 1) 1 - Sonic CD have one similar art to Sonic 1 (some more surrealist) 2 - The music evolute based in essence of Sonic 1 and 2. 3 -The Level Design is really complex (is very hard to make one similar LD based in time "past + present + BF + GD")

L DJ I started video gaming with the original Sonic game but Sonic CD was the first I ever beat. The Metal Sonic race is frustrating at first (depending on age. I was 6 when I beat this). Trick is to just stay near Metal Sonic and not fall down ramps. No matter how much of a head start you get, Metal is programmed to always catch up until the home straight away. That's your photo finish moment. Actually beat Metal and still died once because we cross at the same moment so the wall crushed us both.

I wish Sonic CD did something like the way Silent Hill 1 did their endings with tge Bad, Bad+, Good, and Good+. To get the good ending is pretty much destroy all generators or collect all time stones (what we originally have). And to get the + on it is to defeat Metal Sonic and rescue Amy. I could imagine if losing the Metal Sonic race the game would still continue to Metallic Madness but Amy would be missing. Then after the Good or Bad ending rolls, if Amy wasn't saved in Stardust Speedway, Sonic in the ending would look up and see Amy's shadow in the clouds (like Tails in the bad ending of Sonic 2 Master system/game gear), meaning you let Amy die in the hands of Metal Sonic.

When Sonic CD came to the US, they made an entirely new soundtrack for it due to some rights or something. What you're hearing is the Japanese/European soundtrack. So basically, Sonic CD has 2 entirely different sound tracks, the music that plays when you're in the past is shared between all versions. For the 2011 version (which is available on just about everything but the Wii/Wii U), you can choose between both soundtracks.

2011 ver. misses them because of usage denial by Casey Rankin's estate - Casey was the writer of both songs and passed away at the beginning of 2009 :( The US SCD uses a new OST because SoA thought the JP/PAL OST was too close to the electronic synthpop styled music at the time. Seems SoE also agreed too afterwards since they tried to force USA OST on later versions in europe. Past themes are the same everywhere as they aren't MP3s but are played by the Ricoh rf5c68 as PCM audio.
