It fucked. Considering every time tails knows he's in a doomed timeline truly believe there's no point in going anymore. So seeing him smile at cream is his way of saying "it's okay Cream, we'll do better in the next timeline. And try to remember our mistakes now. I'm sure" What give me chills about this. This is not the first time he off himself...and he probably remember the times he did...damn this is dark when you see it in prospective

This ending is a result of a failed outcome in the true ending, which is if Cream fails to fight her inner demons so she can fight Execun. Cream, a 6 year old, watches as her mother and all of her friends brutally commit suicide or die right in front of her, leading up to the inevitable of Cream doing it herself. Easily one of the most dark and disturbing moments out of this game.

I know someone went into it already, but this ending specifically only happens if you lose to Ultimate Execun during the Best Ending playthrough (which is only doable if you got every other ending beforehand). Basically, Execun absorbs Exeller's other two servants (all 3 represent different attributes) to gain a new Ultimate form and fights Cream. If you lose all your lives, you go through what looks like Suicide Hill and get to witness a "lovely" scene of every character getting killed (either by suicide or something else) ending with Cream willfully taking the Speed Shoes to crash into a wall of spikes. On the bright side. Execun finally gets the balls to talk back to his former master, pointing out how weak he is...only for Exeller to absorb him, noting how the three monsters were each made from Exeller's blood, letting him absorb them back into his essence easily if any of them stepped out of line.
