Tails’ endings are quite bitter than the rest. He has to deal with everything for being Sonic’s best friend and closest companion. Possibly Sonic must’ve given Tails the memory fragments in hopes that he would use them to do the right thing. I feel very sorry for Tails. He knows what will happen all the time, he has to kill at certain points, he’s going through mental depression and bipolar disorder. Exeller has quite the taste of torture. I’m glad that Alice intervened in time before Tails had the chance to commit suicide.

You probably already know by now but he didn't kill him, that was a clone Solo & duo endings in Round 1 do not matter, they get killed offscreen so tails died anyway. Exeller mentions that if he kills either of the 6 characters (3 in Round 1), the region expands, therefore he's able to reach mountain peak, just like he did here when amy was killed even though the previous trio survived. 0:28 *"I guess you forgot about the girls"*

He didn’t exactly win. Although he survived, the timeline reset and back to the beginning. Also Exeller is immortal and Tails only killed the clone cause it had a small percentage of Exeller power. So technically he won but only to be sent back to the beginning. He could fight but he already doesn’t want to and even if he does he has a small chance of winning. If he has help from Alice he can, but if not it will be a long time for Tails to win and it will be difficult
