The only one worse than Sonic.EXE is Jeff the Killer. When he didn't have a backstory and it was just the image, that is when he was the most effective. The backstory was very poorly written, and I've read better takes on it like Slimebeast's JTK. Regardless, Shadow of RED would kick both of their asses. After all, to me he is the golden standard for a Video Game creepy pasta villain that can interact with the real world. Although Sonic.EXE used to scare me.

@@silascraven I guess great is subjective. Slenderman did have a movie made on them and it did horribly. I think the scariness from a lot of those creepypasta characters is that they're internet urban legends. There's a sense of subtle believably to them because you're really engaging with the story in a more 'intimate' way, on an obscure website. Once those urban legends become big movies/games/what have you, it removes that believably from them and removes the more personal connections you made with those stories, ultimately not making them as scary. That's my take on it, anyway.

In concept Sonic.exe could work in a similar way to Super Sonic from Fleetway's Sonic the Comic or Dark Super Sonic from SonicX as a dark alter ego of Sonic that takes over when negative emotions get the better of him. This could add an interesting dynamic to Sonic as a character; trying to grapple with the demon that could and would destroy the world laying dormant inside him. If done correctly it could make for a great character study of Sonic.
