It was a beautiful scene. Unfortunately for me, I was completely distracted by the fact that these ancients are Chaos. Or rather the implication that Chaos was an ancient. This was a mind blowing moment for me, yet the writing and story wanted me to instead focus on the emotional moment between the two. I still can't get over how the main story in the game kind of ignores the painfully obvious fact that Ancients and Chaos look SOOO much alike.

Amy's arc is probably my favorite arc among the 3 narrative arcs, because it's so rare and satisfying to see Sonic and Amy talking quietly between them, and their relation is so beautiful and adorable. Sonic is natural, sweet and reassuring with her, and Amy is calm and natural with him, she isn't this immature stalker from 2000s and 2010s eras, but we see she tries to communicate her love in another and better way. And it's not only thanks to dialogues. Voice actors too, anyone who is not blind and deaf can see they put heart in their acting, they put themselves in the shoes of their characters, they have their feelings. Without Roger Craig Smith, we wouldn't see the down-to-earth and calm personality, sweetness and wisdom of Sonic (and even if Jason has also this talent, it doesn't mean Roger can't have it). Same without Cindy Robinson, we wouldn't see the maturation and the growth of Amy (and Lisa Ortiz may be a good Amy, but it's not sure she is able to be a mature and calm Amy like Cindy though). And I screw in advance fools who would want keeping criticizing actors for nothing. Just stop crying and recognizing their talent.

Mine too , The first Island in this game is my fav as well with the scenery and music and their dialog is interesting. The desert and the volcano islands are just confusing to navigate

This is just you REGUSING to acknowledge these transactions of amy because you're ignorant, quite simple. Amy may have been a stalker in the 2010s, but to act like that's the only trait she had means you've never really truly took time to understand the cutscenes when playing a Sonic game, or maybe storytelling isn't your thing.

I believe Sonic has been caring about Amy since Sonic Adventure 2 (as evidence by the cutscene when he goes to exchange fake Chaos Emerald for saving her), he was just off-put by her constant haggling and asking him to marry her. I guess she eventually realized she has to grow up to properly show her love to Sonic.

I love how that even though Sonic clearly wanted to take more action early on and save everyone, and he was visibly frustrated with Amy focusing so much on the Koco, he never actually talked down to Amy or downplayed her input. He treated her with genuine love and respect and was willing to make time for what she felt was important, too, not just for what *he* thought was important.

I know a lot of people aren't a fan of this much deeper voice direction for Roger and are talking more negatively about it during more recent times. But I just dig this voice direction so much compared to earlier games, and hope we get to keep that for future mainline entries. It is a little all over the place, I get that, but this is the most natural we have ever got with Roger as Sonic and I think this just fits his Sonic more. More than what he have tried before, doing a higher pitched, more energetic voice that's trying to copy Jason & Ryan's Sonic before him. Roger's voice just isn't built for that higher pitch range biologically, so trying to do that kind of voice directly conflicts with his strengths in the lower vocal ranges. Even other young Anime characters he have acted with an energetic voice doesn't try to go that high, and has a voice direction that allows Roger some flow to his natural lower ranges. I'm not saying that Roger isn't allowed to express higher pitched excitement in his lines, they just need flow more naturally and not be forced. That and a small redesign to Sonic and co to age them up a little, like making the quills and the body a little longer again like 06 or Riders would complement the change.

I 100% agree. The voice direction for him was a step in the right direction and perfectly fitted with the whole tone of the game. It gave us a more mature and responsible character in Sonic and I greatly hope they continue with that going forward.

The voice acting carries the scene. Because as good as dialogues are, they wouldn't mean anything without the voice acting. Unless being in denial, nobody can deny the scene successfully transmitted the emotions, and it's thanks to the voice acting as the dialogues.

@@OraKogamiSan yet when Amy was first introduced she wasn't always the crazy stalker that follows sonic. Instead she was more like this young girl that falls for her first crash. It was only with later series set after the sonic classic that Amy Rose became this stalker-like character that was obsessed with sonic. Basically the writers of that time took Amy's love for sonic and made it her defining personality trait. Amy Rose has been shown to be far more empathetic when Sonic isn't the center of her focus.

There’s a platform above the challenge thing. That’s where she is. You can use the white rails nearby and jump off of them to gain enough height to get there Took me a while to figure it out :/
