Lizuka said the form won't likely return that's all. Also Aaron Weber said everything is Canon. Hyper Sonic almost made an appearance in Sonic Mania but was scrapped by Sega at the last second. You even get a different ending in Sonic 3&k in Sonic Origins when you beat the doomsday zone as Hyper Sonic showing that as the true ending and making Hyper Sonic canon. If it was never canon they wouldn't have brought it back in Sonic Origins.

It's more akin and a nod to Ikaruga than Touhou. In Ikaruga you swap between two colors and are immune to the bullets that are the same color as you just like how it is in Frontiers, while in Touhou you have to dodge EVERYTHING. Ikaruga also has the same special move that charges the same.

Really wished the final boss was more akin to like the Sonic unleashed final boss, where you would fly around attacking exposed weak spots and then “The End” would break out of the orb or whatever and reveal a large titan like boss that sonic and sage fight together, instead we got a bullet hell that honestly reminded me a lot more of touhou or even Nier Automata endings. It was still fun enough but a far cry from the high quality spectacle fights we got previously throughout the game

Looks like they didn't know that during the end boss fight (and hacking games) you are immune to projectiles if you are shooting the same color so you can run into them to destroy them and generate a ton of charge for your special attack. It's super affective.

I figured that out after dieing the 6th or 7th time, but even knowing that it still took a lot of effort, I liked the challenge that "The End" gave us but I was a bit anticlimactic. I'm not going crazy or anything every game has flaws, even the best ones. But I did love "The End's" monologue to Sonic so that's a plus ( in my opinion)

Amy's character is not only the "Sonic must be mine" thing, tails wants to be like in SA1 again and not only stand and watch how Sonic saves him, knux here isn't just a quardian or a hole character he is actually pretty deep compared him in literally any other Sonic game and Sonic seems more determined than ever especially when he barely walks because od cybercorruption but he still does it because he must save everyone. This actually shows how much he cares for his friends and not only that he is just the stereotype "good guy".

well technically there is literally no need for hyper form cause super form is literally invincible, it seems to have an unlimited power(you just need time to charge it) and the only way to defeat the super form is to buy enough time for rings to deplete.

This makes me wonder how fun would a game be in Super Robot style where you play as Ancients and control four titans as you defend against "The End" onslaught. Those titans look like great Super Robots to control. Supreme: Command unit and long-range sniper and can fly (A on the ground and A in the air) Giganto: S on the ground, powerful melee fighter, but can also do AoE and have a single target mouth-laser. Knight: S on the ground, great at defending, and very mobile, and of course it has range attack with his shield. Wyvern: S in the air, extreme mobility and evasion rate, and of course, tons of missile attacks.

Sonic Team really missed an opportunity to finally have Hyper Sonic in a 3D game for the first time. Honestly, with how important to the plot the Chaos Emeralds and Super Sonic were, PLUS the presence of Knuckles and a connection to Angel Island, all the pieces were in place for the Super Emeralds to be introduced. Instead of being some lame space shooter fight against a Moon, The End should have been a boss that was so strong that Super Sonic couldn't touch it, making a transformation into Hyper necessary. Take the epicness of the Super Sonic boss battles in the game, throw you into space and amp it up to 11. That's what THE END should have been! Again, missed opportunity!

Careful, you might run into comments saying there's no reason Super emeralds to be introduced if they have unlimited power to begin with, or the plot had no need for them to exist. In my opinion, I would have preferred a Hyper form, or SOME new form to begin with considering Tails mentioned "The End" being more dangerous or on par with Dark Gaia. If Sega/Sonic team had a bit more patience maybe, there could have been way more amazing things. Could have been 3 long phases such as Sonic fighting it first, then Sage with the Supreme Titan and somehow implementing Super Emeralds. They could have even maybe implemented Sonic getting knocked out of his Super Form since that apparently isn't impossible. A random high speed laser did the trick on Ares, and then there was Knuckles back then, along with Eggman being able to forcefully separate him and the emeralds in unleashed. Going from Rip and tearing the previous titans with Metalcore in the background to then a bullet hell against a moon didn't feel like the appropriate finale

@@Wingingtie3 honestly I think with all the lore we got in this game about the emeralds and seeing how op super sonic is. I think it’s the perfect time to bring back hyper sonic. I mean why not? Like tbh think about it. With sage being revived and being as op as she is, eggman could have so many more new and powerful creations that even super sonic won’t be enough. Sage of course would be the key to those creations because of how smart she is. She would be able to also find the super emeralds. Lots of potential for the future.

@@jethawk1172 now that i think about it your right, the titans were really strong given that super Sonic had to throw kicks and punches at them, but nothing that couldn't be handled and then we have THE END who was a enemy that sage stated that not even super Sonic would be enough and she really was right as we all saw it. It really was the perfect opportunity to bring back hyper, i guess SEGA really wants to bury this transformation and forget that it ever existed.

Wyvern is by far the best fight visually and musically. But Knight is the best fight in terms of combat.
