strangely enough, if you consider that double jumping and drop dash is possible in this game... this level has a lot of speedrun potential. the level's normal S rank is 2m55. this level can be completed in 2m 15s by not screwing up and my fastest is 1m56s with some legal hacks like using "boosting long jump", stomp jumping, drop dashing in certain areas.

I repeated this stage to get an S-Rank so, so many times, it's unbelievable. When I finally pulled it off with 2m22, I felt as if I had just come out from a university exam, and I probably know the insides of this level better than my own house. Super fun. 10/10 would play again.

Over a year later and this is still the level I occasionally boot my game up to play. Honestly one of the best Sonic Stages of all time imo. The feeling of YEAH WOO HOOOO you get when beating it is still unrivaled by any other stage in the game. And it’s not even like close to the hardest either.

Speedrun strats: Note I use the "Boosting Long Jump" to get to close some wide gaps this can be done by jumping once, boosting, then doing the 2nd jump. 0:06 you can skip the dash cannons jumping on the upper platform, then performing a BLJ then attack the spring. 0:13 with boosting long jump, you can skip 2 of the buzz bombers. but if you drop dash on this platform, you can skip the zip handle and up to 3 buzz bombers. 0:25 that's the fastest way to reach the balloon. but if you're impatient and the platform is at the bottom, perform a stomp jump to get a good height then boost to reach the balloon. 0:32 DO NOT BOOST on this ring!!! at 0:37 if you kill the eggrobo, then perform a BLJ, you can reach 2 unreachable platforms that will skip the wall jumping section 0:49 this rainbow ring can be reached easier. with the method I outlined previously With these, you can shave off 10 seconds by the 2nd checkpoint. I have no speedruns strats after this other than using the Boosting Long Jump on many attackable targets. and skipping as many enemies as possible. my fastest is 1m56s with no homing dash. Drop dash works wonders on this level.

Cyberspace physics r locked. U can only change em for open zone. I hope they fix it in a patch cuz 2d cyberspace sonic feels super slow.
