My theory for the "Sonic's Birthday" portion of Update 2 is customization, collecting something like a candle/cake/ring token to unlock pieces of an outfit from Sonic's past i.e the Riders glasses, Chip's bracelet, maybe even Wisps that can follow you around. That's just my theory though

I've been having SO much fun with this new DLC...I have the biggest smile on my face, especially with the jukebox mode. The neon signboard in your setup looks pretty cool. I'm amazed! Glad you're back for another content, Sam! As for Sonic Frontiers, the mode from the first update I really like is the Photo Mode. It's fun to take whatever photos I want. Using different filters and adjusting the camera angle to match the photo that makes it look stunning. Sonic Team truly takes this game to a whole new level and never fails to amaze the fans.

It genuinely increased my already immense love for this game!!! The boss rush felt fun, the cyberspace version actually made me appreciate some of the stages a lot more, and the extreme difficulty while a bit jank at times shows how fun the combat truly can be when enemies don't die in a single hit.

Don't forget the Springtime Koco skin, which was a godsend for colorblind peeps like me, lol. We'll probably see more skins for the other seasons with the next updates.

I really want to see an online leaderboard for the cyber space stages. That's the only reason why I would go back and play Forces because it was fun getting faster times to rise up the ranks even though the game itself was pretty lack luster. That's one thing I really enjoyed about the game.

The first update is pretty good. Boos Rush is pretty challenging (I hate the Caterpillar boss). Cyber space challenges is pretty good. As for extreme difficulty…. it’s the definition of holy hell.

Despite obvious unpolishness in many parts of the DLC/Update, I still think it's really great. Jukebox actually makes you want to collect them all, the Extreme difficulty is indeed hardcore, the new modes are true to Sonic games: they require you to master skills, tecnhniques and the layouts knowledge to improve your results. It's a big step forward not just in terms of Sonic Frontiers, but also a promising start for the Third Era of Sonic games which actually makes sense now.

There's an update to change the Koco skins. You can change them to literal Easter Eggs. Maybe we can change Koco into Chaos later!

Is also worth remembering that both updates 1 and 2 but mostly 1 were confirmed to be mostly just adding stuff that was meant to be in the game to begin with if Sega didn't keep rushing Sonic Team. So this could potentially mean that in the future updates as update 2 and mainly 3, we may see some HUGE additions and changes to the game.

Honestly this new update is amazing which I wasn’t expecting cause it’s all free. I’ve been playing frontiers for several hours daily again since it dropped and I’m having so much fun (except for cyberspace challenge chaos island, that’s really frustrating)! I wouldn’t have minded if it was paid dlc and it’s what I was expecting because open world style games have a huge budget! Props to SEGA for making it free! Also that neon sign of yours is AWESOME!

There’s so many good things we’re seeing here already, and knowing that there’s even more big changes and additions in store for the next updates just has me all the more hyped! As appreciated as the additions and QoL changes are in this update, this and Update 2 are basically just bite sized pieces of content meant to build us up to Update 3, which is where the real *meat* of the post-launch support seems to be. Don't get me wrong tho, the fact that Sega is letting Sonic team continue to support and improve the game *well after release* like this is a GREAT SIGN for the future!

Apart from the Super Sonic DLC, the only major DLC we got for Forces was Episode Shadow and the Sanic T-shirt, and considering Episode Shadow was like, 15 minutes long, it was pretty short-lived. Team Sonic Racing got absolutely no post-launch support, which was really bummer since TSR needed it. So Sonic Team's plans for year-long post-launch support for Frontiers has me really excited, I can't wait to see where they take Frontiers from here.

3:20 I can understand that. That was an issue that started in Lost World. For some reason, the speed cap for 2D is lower than in 3D, so when the Hedgehog Engine 2 built off of Lost World, the 2D speed cap stayed lower than the 3D speed cap.

I’ve really enjoyed the update so far. I didn’t quite finish my playthrough of Sonic Frontiers when the game first came out (work has made it take so long to finish games these days) so I hadn’t known that any updates got completed until I went back to finish my playthrough and noted a new Speed Strats had come out. The Jukebox feature is my new favorite thing! I love the music that’s already on the islands, but sometimes you want something more rocking like the Adventure days or something more techno like the old Genesis classics and then BAM… now they’re right there. As someone who grew up in the Jason Griffith era of Sonic, unlocking Unleashed music in Frontiers and running around the islands with Unleashed music (like Arid Sands) was just nostalgic as heck!

I'm loving the new update so far; the jukebox mode and music note collectathon adds so much extra life to Sonic Frontiers. Roaming around the arid sands of Ares Island with Mirage Saloon in the background feels surreal--yet wonderful! That said, I really appreciate the efforts of SEGA & Sonic Team so far; not only did Kishimoto and Co. provide my favorite Sonic game (and one of my favorite games to date), but they've expanded upon it in a meaningful way! One thing I really wish they had in photo mode is depth of field. It’s kind of cliche to have depth of field to get a cinematic look in games but you have no idea how much fun I had with depth of field in Spider-Man ps4’s photo mode. All the lights and weather made it look like a still from a movie. Wish frontiers had that

I really like this update, especially battle rush it’s so satisfying going through each enemy you’ve previously faced back to back culminating in the titan fights. And extreme difficulty sounds intense I can only imagine going up against the end with it enabled.

Hey yo I just realised what if the "new koco" in update 2 is chao Koco? Since it's sonics birthday. Also for people who still aren't sure about momentum, in Kishimotos first few tweets about the spindash he said that the reasson he wanted to add it back into the game and realised how to make it work was thanks to everyones suggestions about momentum. There will be momentum with the spindash. As for what the spin boost is (I don't really like the name tho,) It's likely just the spindash as you know it, but with a boost function that works similar to greenhill paradise act 2 and other games like that. People recommended that Idea to Kishimoto and he seemed to like it. Regardless this stuff should be coming out in the next update. Kishimoto even liked a tweet asking if the spindash and momentum would come out in update 2 and with what he's just said about the next update, it seems like that's going to be THE update for this stuff and update 3 will be focused on new content.

There are some weird bugs in the battle rush like an unkillable wolf just walking around but with new updates come new problems so I had to waste time until he decided to attack me again. Hopefully, Battle Rush gets patched too.

@@EdgyQueen Usually in the base game they shrug off for a sec and resume attacking immediately. This specific wolf walked 15 seconds for no reason in the update. Secondly, especially in a timed Battle Rush mode, that bug is especially egregious in wasting your time and reducing your rank and should be patched for that reason alone.

That update is enjoyable overall despite certain flaws. Boss Rush is interesting but i don't like that players have to get a high enough overall rank to unlock other stages which punishes less skilled players. Also, i would prefer if they give players the option to battle against any of the Titans instead of having to go through other enemies first but i think the reason why Boss Rush involves other enemies first is because players would most likely complain that the Boss Rush is too easy and barebones if Boss Rush only had the Titan battles. All the Boss Rush stage should have been unlocked regardless of players overall ranks. Plus, it sucks that i can't use the Jukebox to select different songs during the Titan battles but at least i can use Spotify. Photo Mode is nice and thank goodness it's free. I wish they give players the ability to fly around the world maps as Super Sonic.

I was worried bout this games replayability. Will ppl want to come back or will this be the least replayable sonic yet?(which to me spells death cus that's in his dna as a VG franchise) But this 1st update alone has saved the game from such a fate. In terms of wut this offered rn I'd say all I want is a near fully free camera wit more options(the 1 we have now is less than current standard in tools & is cumbersome to control), more songs (miffed bout his world), & DEF more places to play the added tracks specifically the bosses but also CS if possible(like gens). I'm jus excited for update 2 now edit: I jus thought havin a toggle for the zoom in on bosses(like SQUID lol) would be nice(saves time & is less annoyin)

if they have an update 4 that has true and i mean true boss rush though the super sonic boss fights like having more hp on the boss. like i love the boss rush we have now but i just want to fight the super sonic fight more of tin than the others but i'm happy with what we got but i do wish they make the ranking's for the boss rush much less of a pain to get the other fight but still make it fun like you have to get an S rank with in a given time by the timer going down and not up so like you have 30 or 20 mins that dose not starts until you hit the boss in each fight but that's just my thot's on it
