its because shadow cannot be infected by organic sicknesses/infections, but the metal virus isnt organic, shadow assumed he was also immune to the metal virus despite it being unorganic

I mean too be fair he didn’t really understand the virus all that much, and from his prospective sonic was just running away. He didn’t know going fast is what destroys the virus to prevent fully being infected. There’s also the fact that Shadow normally can’t get sick, so he just assumed that this virus would be the same and he wouldn’t get infected. It’s not his fault. Later in the comic when he’s cured he even reflect on this and admit he was wrong for acting this way.

I sometimes hate when things are done for 'plot purposes'. It makes some characters out of character. Shadow went down easy in this. I'm not even a huge sonic franchise fan either to judge, yet I think I have a better idea of the characters than the artist. I don't even know if this is an official comic or not. Tbh I don't really care as companies do, rather frequently, make characters weaker/dumber for plot purposes. It's semi in character for him to be so confident because he's the 'ultimate life form' but come on. He should be harder to take down. Eh whatever. .

I dont know if this was supposed to be a humbling moment for him, but they did Shadow dirty in this. Also he IS immune to diseases but I dont remember if they explained why .. its been a while. I agree. Even in situations where he was stubborn. He eventually would realize he's being dumb. Here, he didn't realize Fighting the Zombots is pointless. It seemed that he was able to resist infection cause he was the Ultimate lifeform. Until he got infected cause he was fighting the Zombots head on. And he still didn't run away, just for pride. Atleast he learned that Sonic was right after he was cured at the end of the Metal Virus Arc
