I liked the jetpack section and the first phase of the boss, but the phase with the gray orbs is.... Ugh. It's just way too monotonous. One phase of a boss fight should not take over 10 minutes, and if it should, at least make it ramp up in difficulty instead of keeping it at the same difficulty and the same forms of attacks. If a boss fight makes me say to myself "When is this just going to end already" then it needs revision. That pains me to say, because it's clear as day that the people who worked on this hack are unbelievably talented. The music, visuals, and added parts like the cutscenes and dialogue go to show just how much effort went into making this a super impressive hack, but those aspects, as incredible as they are, don't make up for the gameplay of this hack if you ask me.

even that start sequence with the jetpack presents more challenge than the entirety of S3&K. hell, not being amazed at the awesome effects in the start sequence that seem to push the genesis/md to it's limits is way harder than beating the final bosses of S3&K. though, while this version of death ball is much less pathetic than og, i don't really think it warrants a remix of FALLING DOWN. the original FALLING DOWN was the absolute climax - both storywise and just as a music piece, and hell, even as a boss, since Dr.Vile/Weil is a great final boss. speaking of him, some of the attacks of Great Orbinaut Spam Thing do remind me of him aswell, a bit. oh, and the thing itself is also really funny. speaking of that series again... the "TIRE YOU OUT!" attack reminds me of Explose Horneck's midboss. ROCKING remix of 9's boss theme! this reminds me that 9's SuperHero is amazing... but sadly doesn't change 9's biggest weak point, the really basic bosses. it's a shame, i would have LOVED to see Inti make Twin Devil or Tornado Man's SuperHero versions. ah well, as for the hack itself... if this was a full hack with full levels and a bunch of cool secrets, settings and all hidden within it, i would have said this is the Rockman4MinusInfinity of S3&K - turning what was a good, but extremely held back by how forgiving and sometimes dumbed down the game feels compared to some of it's predecessors (and sometimes games that came afterwards) into some of the best there are with extremely creative and challenging bossfights for the series... but that's not the case, as it seems this hack is a pure boss rush extraordinare. well, to be honest, from what i see in the video, this is EXTREMELY impressive for the console, and it's understandable why it's not a full game-tier, but still, i can't say this is my favorite hack of the entire franchise as i could with 4MI. though, i'd say this is definitely on the level of 4Voyage in total quality, even if it lacks levels, and overall, a refreshingly great hack after the mediocrity that was SHC2020. can't wait for the other SHC2021 hacks, hopefully they'll be good too - and PROPS to the creators! absolute props! this stuff is just plain impressive, games like mania try to act like saturn games and yet their cutscenes and bosses are downright pathetic compared to this stuff - and this RUNS ON THE GENESIS/MD! i repeat, GENESIS/MD! 16-bit! you could say, they did some blast processing, heh heh heh.
