As a veteran player who played when the DLC were done in packs, I can give you several tips: If you're an Impostor, the vents stop your kill timer from counting down. Only use them to escape if you're sure there's no-one around. The electrical tasks on the first map are right-next to a Vent, therefore making them risky. If a body is reported or the emergency button is pressed, dash down there and get them done. 9/10 this is a common strategy, so keep watch on who goes where. If you're an impostor and you set off the Reactor, run to it and wait. When someone else arrives and comes to your position (which sometimes will happen) you can kill them, and activate the task to throw off suspicion, OR lie your way out of killing the target. Doesn't work always, but is good for chipping away the numbers if you aren't the last one.
