To be fair, all of the island themes are done in a regular Orchestral style and follows the same rules. Each island has four movements, the first being considered the more slower version or the introduction. You are literally thrown onto a new area and need to get familiar with it, which is why it’s a mellow tone with three or four instruments instead of the whole orchestra. A type of concerto if you will. Movement two follows that after verifying the threat, what’s happening to your friends, and thus, need to act. It is albeit still slow, but faster than the first. Same rules apply for the third and fourth movements. I’d say more but I gotta get back to work

@@efreq.6465 No, it really isn't. A game OST is built with, at the very least, the expectation of it being expected to loop or pass off to something else smoothly to fit the action. It has to fit a broad atmosphere unless it's a rigidly-scripted event, and each non-boss track has to be listenable for a span of potentially an hour, and that's before we get into systems like variable mixing where tracks have to sound good with and without certain instruments, or - god help you - red dead redemption and breath of the wild's procedural overworld tracks that sound wonderful in-game but are essentially unfit for an OST because they are literally just different chord progressions layered into different situations, played based on what's happening onscreen. A film OST doesn't have to necessarily do any of that. It can be mapped almost perfectly to the situation because it only ever has to follow one sequence of events. Individual scores are free to last just a few minutes at a time with full ramp-ups and resolutions as is typical of most songs. The way the Starfall Islands tracks work here is not only a testament to how nice they are as a mood-setting film-like score, but the person who made the video managing to get the timing on it to match up.

The first time Super Sonic was used in an important and impactful way in a long time. Or even just from the sheer badassery or the fight itself. "Normal" isn't what I'd use to describe any of it.
