I have been a fan of Keanu Reeves since the Matrix Trilogy. To see him passionately played this iconic Sonic character fills me with joy as a Shadow fan. Heck, even Jason Griffith (the voice actor who played Shadow the hedgehog in previous Sonic games) believes Reeves is the PERFECT SHADOW!

Jim Carrey and Keanu Reeves both are natural treasures and seeing both of them in the same movie is awesome, but yes defienitily Keanu Reeves as Shadow the Hedgehog in Fearless year of Shadow: What a colorful punch. I think he put his own pain from his actual loss of a lived one into the role because that helped him feel close to shadow. Also I can't wait to hear him say" I am Shadow, Shadow the Hedgehog" as his bracelets come off

As I understand it, despite Shadow being a success, they weren’t making any successful progress on him being able to produce a cure for Maria’s condition. Which was already frustrating him considering that’s what he was made for. So there’s a chance she would have succumbed to her condition regardless of the raid on the ARK.

(Long comment warning) I think the best thing about a lot of the people involved in the sonic movies. Is the fact that they pretty much all understand how passionate the sonic fan base is. (Thanks to the first movie😂) They probably also love the fact that it’s a franchise that allows all types of people to get involved regardless of age,ethnicity,gender,etc etc. Plus along with the 30+ years of games shows and comics. The fan base has created some of the most iconic fan made content ever to exist possibly. So it’s not like they’ll run out of potential ideas for future movies/shows. Especially considering they could literally do almost any style/genre/tone they want and it would probably still work with sonic characters as long as they keep the characters personalities consistent.

I mean, even outside of the Sonic context, cheering about the death of an underage girl is just... off putting. Kudos to Dark Beginnings and Shadow Generations for actually making us care about Maria and what she means to Shadow

@@SkullsNightshade (Long comment warning) Someone told me that they saw an image going around of a poster for the movie in a theatre that said something similar to *please don’t cheer for the Maria scene* or something like that. But they weren’t sure if it was real or if it was Ai generated. But yeah even though I understand why people would be cheering. My concern would be how people from outside the fan base would view a bunch of people cheering for an innocent little girls death.

I get that people may be excited if the movie has the guts to keep Shadow's backstory faithful to the source material, I'd be excited too, but that does not take away the scene itself is terribly tragic, it's not supposed to make us feel happy.

The fact that we gotta tell people to not cheer Maria’s death is baffling. Like we’re telling a bunch of children not to misbehave but it encourages them. I know some are aware they’re just memeing but not everyone thinks alike and takes it seriously. And before someone say, “durr gen z”, have you not seen the dumb memes that still linger on that Millennials still use till this day?
