Sonic Movie 3 Trailer REACTION and ANALYSIS!

Hi guys!! I've been seeing a few comments circulating about my lack of Sonic Lore Knowledge despite being a huge Sonic fan, and yes, I KNOW! I really just love the game style and characters. I'm definitely trying to educate myself recently, so I apologize for my lack of understanding :)

The short version of Shadow motivations on his debut game is to fullfill his promise to Maria, which he was brainwash by Gerald into thinking it was to avenge her by destroying the world. From the begining Shadow has always been a character that cares abaut the people he meets and Will do anything for his Friends, from getting back into an exploding fortress to get them out before they die up to and including destroying the world and himself in their name. To be more specific, in the games he was created as the ultimate life form, but the real reason Gerald was doing the proyecto was to find a way of curing Maria terminal desease, Shadow and María grew really close to each other, until G.U.N(Sonic world main military force who had founded the proyect in the first place) for some reason atacked the space colony ark were they lived(in my head the reason is that Gerald didn't gave them Shadow as a weapon) whit the intention of killing everyone involve whit the projecct except Shadow and Gerald. A soldier shoots María as she ran away, mortally wounding her, but María still manages to use her last Moments to tell Shadow what she wants before sending him down into the planet. GUN killed everyone on the arc, captures Gerald and finds Shadows pod before he awakes, keeping him in suspended animation for 50 years while forcing Gerald to keep working for them, Gerald complys at first, but after learning they had killed Maria he goes insane and starts secretly puting pieces in place to get Revenge on the entire world, by blowing it up, before he can ejecute the plan himself GUN finally realizes what he was doing and executed him by firing squad, but Gerald never planed on surviving long enough to carry out his plan, he had instead manage to rewrite Shadows last memorys of María, making him believe what she wanted was for him to avenge her as well as giving him the information as to how. Once he gets awaken, everything he does(except saving thoughe because he just can't stop caring for people even when he is actively trying to kill everyone) is to carry out what he think was María last whish. By the time the ark is on it's path to collide whit earth, destroying both the ark and the planet, he just looks trough the ark Window to the planet, ready to die alongside it in order to fullfill his promise to Maria, It's not until his real memorys of Maria last moments Trigger thanks to Amy words that he remember she actually wanted him to not hate humans and instead help them build a better world that he turns completly around and helps Sonic stop the destruction he put in motion, sacrificing himself in the process. (He actually survived falling from space, but nobody knew that at the time).

If I remember right, Gerald kept stalling with giving shadow to GUN and instead sent Emerl in his stead whom began destroying everything and then eventually the Biolizard which did even more damage. That was the icing on the cake.

@@masemboross4996 he did gave Emerl to GUN, but his rampage was in the arc, before he gave it to them. He never gave the biolizard to GUN, boy that it would have help delay anything if he did as it wasn't long before it was stuck unable to exit his room whitout dying due to exsecive use of energy

My theory is that there will be time travel, Sonic and Robotnik will enter the portal that Shadow made and end up in the past, and there they will discover more about Shadow, and along the way Robotnik will meet his grandfather Gerald. I believe that during the movie, they will be searching for the Chaos Emeralds that were scattered around the world in the previous movie, and Shadow will also be after the emeralds wanting to use them to resurrect Maria, they will all go to space, Shadow was being manipulated by Black Doom who steals the emeralds from him, they all face Black Doom, they get the emeralds back, Sonic and Shadow transform into Super and defeat Black Doom.

Far more likely Shadow will want the emeralds to kill all of humanity as revenge like in SA2, as evident from the line "When I'm done, there won't be anything left"

But in the trailer, Gerald (if it is him) recogniced Eggman. But I think, this wouldn't be the case, when it is a Gerald from 50 years ago, where Eggman didn't existed yet, or as a small child.

Half right, what he wants is to fulfill María last whish, he only goes trough whit getting Revenge because Gerald Made him think it was what María wanted, but the moment he remembered that wasn't the case he completly he completly let go of it to fulfill her actual whish
