A full gameplay of Sonic 1 from Sonic Origins' story mode. Its been about 10+ years since I've last played Sonic 1, but having spin/drop dash made it a lot of fun.
This goes through the game collecting all Chaos Emeralds and not taking a hit. I forgot how tedious the special stages were.

As for Sonic CD, when you get to it, you can go through exactly the original Sonic CD in Japanese. It's just that in Sonic Origins they removed the music that Michael Jackson himself wrote. Now Sonic 3 and Knuckles have lost that very atmosphere!

I think it's been 10 years since I played it too! there was a Sega genesis Sonic collection on ds. but I never beated them. because they are so Hard😔 Sonic 1 i think i only got to stage 4 or 5. lol. Nice to see you complete this despite being first time in a decade!

Was coincidentally just watching Scott the Woz's video on the Sonic 1 last night, so perfect timing 😁 Having Spin Dash and Drop Dash looks really helpful, though it barely helps the pacing of Marble Zone, where I usually gave up in the original 😅 Also have to wonder how the average player is supposed to know the platform will show up in Labyrinth Zone 1 at 17:30 🤔 Really neat seeing the Labyrinth Zone and Spring Yard Zone Boss incorporate aspects of the Zone!

In the first Sonic the Hedgehog game, Sonic can't use Spin Dash.

a bit late to the party on my end but, it's true that in Sonic 1 that you can't use the Spin Dash, it's just that some subsequent re-releases retroactively add it to the game, like the SEGA Ages ports, the mobile port and Origins for example, mainly because it makes the game generally a little better to play.

It basically enables Sonic Mania style graphics to 1, CD, 2 and 3. I kind of like the style the most, so put them on.

The ending Cutscene explain where the Seventh Chaos Emerald is while in Canon, it was in West Side Island still in the place that it was sealed in aka the Special Stage.
