The sudden cut to the forest setting startled me a bit. I think people forget that piracy screens weren't full of jumpscares, they were just... unsettling. No blood (at least mostly lol), just slightly creepy images.

I definitely agree, real piracy screens are pretty ominous because they're either a black screen with text, a colored screen with text (wow life-changing) or the game over screen like DKC2. sometimes even with some creepy music like in Puggsy. (although the rather goofy writing of that one may make it less unsettling than others)

I never get piracy screens though. There are some piracy screens but they don’t say “DESTROY THE CARTRIDGE YOU ARE COMMITTING A SERIOUS FELONY!!11!” They’ll just say that it won’t work because it’s not an official copy.
