Sonic Scorched Quest - All Bosses (No Damage). Formerly known as Sonic 1: Burned Edition it's a hack created by Team Painto of Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega Mega Drive in 2016. The game shows one of Sonic's adventures after the events of Sonic CD on South Island.

Why purple? Everyone asks: If I recall right sonic looked purple underwater at times, so for him to have a purple tint around burning flames would actually be possible due to lighting. I feel like that was intentional because at the start he was blue. I love how these bosses seem like normal bosses that would actually be in a sonic game. I'll see if I can give this Rom a go if I find it.💫

I only got as far as Fire Light Zone Act 2. Molten Brain Zone Act 1 is very hard. Also M. Burrobot.. the tiles fall down after one another quickly. I say Megacrab, Gigatron, M. Cater, Megajaws, Boiling Labyrinth's major boss and Megaorbi are the easiest bosses.

The effort gone into having four bosses per stage and the spritework on top of it is astounding, but the mechanics of the boss fights unfortunately feel a bit underwhelming or tedious. Not obnoxiously so, but they don't quite stack up to the creativity of the originals besides some of the main Robotnik fights.

Jesus Christ, that Metal Sonic music is an abomination. How did your ears handle it?! Speaking of Metal Sonic, I feel like another trick could’ve been done with defeating Metal for the third time, given that it’s underwater, and water and circuitry tend to not mix. Props to the mod-maker though, for having Robotnik do more stuff with... I believe that’d be an emerald of the time? Looking primarily at the end of Act 1, and warping Sonic after the second Metal Sonic battle. Repurposing standard enemies with boss modes also shows a ton of imagination and ingenuity. So it’s got that going for it. 15:42 Oh! Two stages to the boss! Clever. I don’t get why the ring count is dropping though?

Also what I don’t understand about this hack is; how can Sonic become Super Flame Sonic if you collect only 6 of the 7 Flame Emeralds?
