I mean Sonic's Final Colors Blaster on the DS was almost a Super Sonic at this point On the Wii it was but only the strenght of the attack, but on DS he was flying, being invincible and everything. As you said, this is just further proof.

Honestly, giving each emerald a power up with it kind of kills the whole purpose of collecting them all for me. It’s always felt so fun collecting all the emeralds and achieving the ultimate power in the game which is super Sonic, but now these new powers can quite frequently make the super form just feel unnecessary and a lot more boring too when it doesn’t feel as special anymore.
