It'd be weird if I could because I wasn't alive yet. : )
I really put the **press**ure on the ol' Genny for this one. I'm a little surprised with what I was able to put out!
I used the extended 3rd channel (where Channel 3 gets divided into its four operators) to get extra polyphony outta this track. Only 8 channels of simultaneous sounds? Feh! Get out, Nintendo. Genesis does, binch! (jk I still love you, SNES sound chip)
On that note, I also abused the heck out of the Genesis's sample-handling capabilities. Man, was the CPU usage ever high, though... I've never had Furnace, nor DefleMask, stuttering so much before making this. lel
Imagine if I went down the "Extended Channel 3 with DualPCM and CSM" route, instead. (yeowza! *sweat*)

Anyways, my thoughts...
I actually liked the original arrangement (yeah... and guess what else. I like the Sonic & Knuckles Collection/Sonic Origins version of Carnival Night Act 1)
Though, I definitely agree that Jun Senoue should be using his actual guitar skills in his compositions, rather than using the weird Genesis-is-ish soundfont. Oh, well.
Which version do I like better, you ask? Against the norm, I actually prefer my own version this time. I wish Jun would've went as hard as I did. I guess my body forced me to make this one extra special, due to my recent lack of FM-synth based songs. (The Genesis withdrawal is real, darn you!)
This was a fun time to make, and I feel that this may be my greatest Genesis track, yet, so I hope you guys think so, too!

And to you, ‪@AlbertHariken‬ , I know you asked about SNES on the Spike Rosered video, but alas, I lack discipline. Ah, screw you, 64 KB sample RAM limit. And only eight channels? How am I going to add an inordinate number of rock organs???!!1!!!1! (lel) I hope you just really cared about it being sample-based à la the Mean Bean - 2P Versus video.

I still prefer the OG. Press Factory is one of the best tracks in Superstars. This one feels a bit messy IMO.
