I like how in Tails solo series where he is the hero he starts to learn how it feels like to have a sidekick.

Wow, you weren't kidding when you said the next issue would be coming soon! XD but enough talk, comment at you! *Sonic the Hedgehog: The Big Decision* 0:11 Nice to see the Tornado again. Shame we won't be seeing it for much longer... 0:24 You know, he does have a point. If there is one problem I have with this strip that I'll mention straight away, it's that Porker leaves the fight against Robotnik _completely_, when he could still offer aid in non-combat situations. I'm not gonna dance around it, I've a lot of sympathy for Sonic in this situation, but I'll go into that more later. 0:30 On the other hand, I can't blame Porker for wanting out. This story shows the effects that the war against Robotnik can have on people. They do get hurt in this comic, and it's not fair to blame the victims. 0:37 - 1:02 And here it is, the single most infamous page in all of Sonic the Comic. This page, when taken out of context, has been spread about, misrepresented and used in arguments against Fleetway Sonic's character ever since this issue's release. Now to be fair to people who aren't used to this version of the character, if you saw this page without context you'd think Sonic was the biggest ass on the planet. It takes reading between the lines, knowing what makes STC Sonic tick and a fairly thorough knowledge of Sonic and Porker's relationship to see what he's trying to do here. On first glance, Sonic just comes off as a jerk. On the other hand, this is also a very relatable situation, particularly to people who use anger as a form of motivation. Sonic's intentions were to ignite the fire in Porker, and make him mad enough to prove Sonic wrong. Sonic does this because... well, it's what he would expect someone else to do to him in the same situation. Sonic thrives on pressure, and on proving himself to be the best. Porker... doesn't. When called out on his inappropriate behaviour, Sonic storms off, upset that that he failed and embarrassed that he failed in the way he did. A lot of people call him out for this, but I think it shows a side of Sonic that most others generally fail at showcasing; the teenager. Sonic gets angry at times, and like most teenagers he can't express himself in the way he would like to. He's losing a friend and ally here, and he's already being called out in-universe. I think people need to cut him a break. 1:32 Sonic: "Allll by myyyyseeeeeeelf! Don't wanna be..." 1:40 Sonic: "OK OK! I won't sing anymore!" 1:45 Trooper 1: "Jackpot!" Trooper 2: "Bingo!" Trooper 3: "Rummy!" 2:13 Trooper: "And the little git's gone and SWAKKed me!" 2:18 Sonic: "I know I said I wouldn't sing, but damn is Double Vision playing in my head right now." 2:22 Trooper: "FALCON PUNCH!" 2:38 You also don't have to be a genius to know that speaking about your plan while you're just a few feet away from the enemy is bloody stupid. Thank goodness Troopers suffer from conspicuously context sensitive selective hearing. 2:49 Toasty! ...What, were you expecting me to say shocking or something? Get outta here! 2:58 Porker: "Yeah, it's sad, but we do have to say it." Sonic: "Indeed, Porker." *Both turn to the Tornado* Both: "Bye Tails!" Tails: "Bye guys!" *And Tails flew away, never to be seen again* Well, that ended differently than I remembered. Oh wait, I was reading a what-if fan-fiction. Hang on. 3:13 - 3:29 Hey look, Sonic was about to say sorry. Well, he technically did... I mean, he was about to, heh. In any case, I think it's this moment that separates the reality of STC Sonic from the... vastly overblown (let's be honest here) reputation he has among his fans and haters that he is some kind of monstrous, narcissistic jerk. Sonic in STC is arrogant, vain, pushy and has a bad habit of trivialising his friends and their experiences. Regardless, he does care for them, and when he can't convince Porker to stay he doesn't bear a grudge and doesn't want bad blood between them. He and Porker make up and the story ends with the two friends reconciling and agreeing to meet again. Welcome to the Golden Age of Sonic the Comic, people. This is the standard by which most strips will be following (at least the Sonic strips anyways). I consider this story to be the first in this glorious era of Sonic history, since it's a defining moment that basically sets the tone for every Sonic story up to and including Issue 100. What's more is that it breaks the Status Quo; a Freedom Fighter has left the team, and one of the original four too! That's a pretty major change to make. *Knuckles the Echidna: Ghost Ship - Part 3* 3:39 Head Tantaror: "Return the Slab, or suffer my curse!" 4:16 Knuckles: "They cut some ropes and sent a few pirates flying. Truly they can't be beat." 4:36 "Cap Plunder ran away away! When Tantaror's waved their lightning spread, Cap Plunder turned and bravely fled, to fight another day I say!" 4:40 As a ghost, I don't think you actually have eyes. More like... ghost eyes. 5:12 Head Tantaror: "Return the Slab!" Plunder: "Ye already done that part!" Head Tantaror: "Oh did we? How... naaaaaughty." 5:37 Tortuga before Tortuga, I'm guessing. I'm starting to think I just don't have much to say on this story. It's good, for sure, but there's nothing particularly notable for me to point out. I just draw a blank on it for some reason. Strange. *Tails the Fox: Fox on the Run - Part 4* 5:49 Fleabyte: "Ah do. Now quit eyeing up me arm, yer creepin' me out." 5:57 Oh you sassy b****. 6:04 I like this panel. It's just a nice shot, what with them being cast in shadow and all. Just lovely. 6:28 In hindsight, I bet he's kicking himself right now. "Ah shoot, the ONE thing he's famous for, to the point he's NAMED after it, and I forgot to tie it up." 7:21 AH! He said it! That's the moral... also, the comparison this story has been beating into our heads! That too! Also, ever notice how Tails and Tantrum kind of default to a spread footed T-Pose when they're not moving? It's weird. 7:39 Looks like Fleabyte's contracted BRUTUS FEVER!! Fleabyte: "Too much rock and roll! TOO MUCH ROCK AND ROLL!!" 7:59 GAH!! And the people who think Minnie is just Mickey in drag think that's bad! Why is she so wall-eyed!? AND WHY DID SHE CALL HIM TANTRUM!?!? Geez, no wonder _Tristram_ has anger issues. 8:04 And now she doesn't look nearly as bad. The hell was up with that last panel!? 8:11 Oh you sassy b****. AND WHY IS SHE WALL-EYED AGAIN!? Well now, that's what I call a satisfying end to a four part story. I really enjoyed the adventure of Tails and Tantrum, even if Tantrum could be a pain in the ass. I loved Tails' character development here, and if I'm being honest I think he has better chemistry with Tantrum then he does _any_ of the Freedom Fighters, or even anybody else in his solo stories. Makes me wish they brought him back for a more permanent role as Tails' own sidekick or something. My favourite era of STC has started, and man is this a satisfying beginning to a magnificent part of Sonic comic history. But let's not let any newcomers judge too early on this era by the controversial story that started this issue... we're only getting started... ...and _he's_ getting closer... (Countdown S-Minus 4...)

I do like this story only because I feel very sorry for Poker for bring held captive by the Brotherhood of Metallix for a month and Sonic 'the one part I dislike the most' is bring a Dick-head for Poker's decision to leave the Freedom Fighters and now living on the floating island and I'm on Poker's side on this one.

I like Sonic's flawed attitude, he does care about his friends he just doesn't wanna admit it because of his ego.
