[Part 2/4] Ach, got bogged down with even MORE videos before I could finish this one! Ah well, time to finish this. *Knuckles the Echidna: Village of the Damned - Part 2* 3:50 Knuckles is looking more sleepy than the end of last issue. Did he suffer a bout of narcolepsy between now and then? 3:56 Knuckles *guesses* he better help a screaming woman tied to a rock by an untrustworthy crowd of toughs. 4:02 Knuckles: "I paid too much for this New Age Bart Simpson hairdo for me to regret it now." 4:11 - 4:18 Hmm, that's a good droning cult phrase to repeat, but it just can't beat "For the greater good" in my books. 4:22 STC Knuckles: using SA2 Knux's special moves long before 2001. "Get down!" 4:26 Knuckles: "And what are y-... it's the New Age Bart Simpson hair isn't it? Sheep girl: "Yeah, it's really baaad." Knuckles: "By the Master Emerald do I regret this purchase!" 4:44 Again, it always astonishes me with how much STC could get away with because of how much more relaxed people were back in the 90's. A human, er, sapient sheep sacrifice? Dark. 4:50 What was it with the 90's and adamantly warning kids against cults? Not that I'm complaining in the slightest since cults are awful and should always be condemned for the dangerous shams they are, but it seemed like they were exceptionally paranoid that the kids of that era would become buy into them. 5:22 NOBODY escapes the Mobian Inquisition! 5:38 Poor Knuckles looks so shocked here. Knuckles: "Strange girl whom I only just met, how could you betray me now?!" 5:58 Perhaps the darkest line you'll ever hear in anything Sonic related: the evil dictator who rules the planet doesn't give a hoot if we burn each other alive, just so long as we don't trespass on his lawn or wake him up when he's taking a nap or something. 6:03 Oh the irony, considering his very first lines in the last issue. So Sonic the Comic essentially just made a massive homage to The Wicker Man, looong before the awful Nick Cage remake made it popular again. At that, it was a better adaptation of that movie than the remake ever was! XD Oh STC, you never stop surpassing my expectations. I'll leave my final thoughts on this story for next issue, when it's resolved.

What's the song you used during the Sidewinder Mansion scene? Also, thank you for uploading the comics. I love these so much. I consider them a treasure in the franchise, simply for how unique they were.

[Part 3/4] Better hurry this up. Don't wanna get left behind again. *Tails the Fox: Trooper Trouble - Part 1* 6:13 The arrival of the postie is always a tense time in Wood Village Zone. 6:19 The Jehovah's Witnesses have really been stepping up their door-to-door antics as of late. 6:36 "Oooh, naaasty." Also, is that Marge Simpson in the shadows there? 6:41 There are village *wimps* now? Is that a thing? I don't think that's a thing. 6:46 She says as she looks about haughtily and waves her hand at him dismissively. 6:54 It's surprising how it doesn't get old that people just dismiss Tails as an "oh well" case whenever he arrives. You would think that would get annoying really quickly, but nope. Still amusing. 7:06 'Trooper': "I'm not running, I'm making a tactical retreat." Tails: "Hey, that's my line!" 7:15 To confirm an amusing theory from a previous conversation (that I could have been a part of but was too busy at the time), yes, the fat Trooper with the monocle is the leader. He's clearly based on older military leaders, like majors and colonels, who are often presented in the British media as being overweight and wearing monocles to show their wealth and rank. 7:31 Tails: "Based on his superior retreating and regrouping tactics, he must be some kind of Super Trooper! His fighting skills need some work though; he'll never hit me by throwing rocks at _that_ angle." 7:47 What a tweest! The Trooper was a nerd the entire time. Wait... more interested in tech... doesn't like sports... ...I AM Clive the Donkey. OoO 7:55 Blunt Tails is blunt. 8:07 Wah waaah. Also, sick Sonic 3 Boss remix! 8:24 Ah come on Tails, their lines aren't that corny. Nothing worse than yours in any case. I actually really like this story. It's one of my go-to memories whenever I think of solo Tails strips, alongside the Nameless Zone adventures, stories with the Flock and the Tantrum story. It's got some decent heart put into it, what with the multi-layered morals and some decent actions scenes. More on that next issue though.

Am I the only one getting some Wicker Man (the original 1973 version with Christopher Lee) vibes in Knuckles' story in parts 1 and 2 here?

[Part 4/4] Last story. Might rush this one a bit. *Sonic's World: Scream Theme Park* 8:35 *Sigh* That Max Gamble redesign. It looks fine on it's own, but I really wish this guy was a different character than the one we saw a few issues ago. Like a lackey of his, or his younger brother or something. Someone _working_ for Max Gamble rather than being him, since he just looks so unimposing now. 8:43 Little did they know that it was a Robotnik themed ride. Also, what even is the girlfriend? Some kind of bear...? 8:49 Wait, so, is he _not_ going to pull the lever? Max Gamble: "Heh heh, generic bad guy thoughts." 8:54 Oh no! It's the Mysterious Traveller from Issue 32! 9:08 Homer Simpson: "AHH! Mole Troopers!" Trooper: "You will never escape from the Kingdom of the Mole-niks!" 9:14 Bit late for that Mr. Monkey. 9:21 Back in the days before 'Fight me IRL' was a thing, people actually fought IRL. Who knew? 9:27 Huh, so that's why we haven't seen him in a while. He was working on his one-liners. 9:32 I like the ring to that, could be a great theme song. "Super Badnik Traitor, Short-fuse the Cy-ber-nik! Gonna fight the bad guys, watch out Doc Ro-bot-nik!" Needs work but could be a catchy little jingle if I do say so myself. 9:37 Shortfuse: "Course I thought it would have been because of shoddy construction work, not Badniks. The one time I didn't immediately jump to 'Robotnik did it', and Robotnik did do it. Irony's a cow, am I right guys?" 9:43 Oh god, four panels in and he's in with the backstory again. I swear he enjoys monologueing about why he hates Robotnik as much as he enjoys smashing Robotnik's robots. 9:50 Shortfuse: "If only I hadn't wasted precious seconds babbling about my backstory and actually saved them!" 10:02 Very observant Trooper there. Gold Star. 10:14 Shortfuse, you tease. Also, this music is, er... very unfitting, to say the least. I get that you're going for the carnival vibe but it's not exactly suited for a battle scene. 10:30 See, here is why the Max Gamble redesign doesn't work as well as the original design. Shortfuse is supposed to look very heroic here, standing above the villain in his moment of triumph. Yet Max just looks like a regular mook here, a scrawny little small-fry nobody would take seriously unless he was working under someone bigger. The original design was beefy and huge, and very intimidating. The effect of this image would be a lot stronger with that Max cowering before the hero, since it shows how even the biggest bullies and criminals tremble when someone stands up to them. 10:50 Dunno what Max was expecting to be honest. This is actually a pretty great one-off story that brings our good pal Shorty out from his temporary hiatus. It's been a while since we saw him last, and from here on in he gets quite a few large parts in the run-up to 100. Shame about Max's design though. And that's it for this issue. I'm still swamped in vids, so I can't do 86 right off the bat, but it's coming soon for sure.

***** Indeed. Also, it seems I've been left behind again. I'm still doing Issues 86 and 87, but I've been swamped in other stuff I've been trying to catch up on, so those will take me a little while to get through. Shouldn't take me too much longer to get caught up though.

[Part 1/4] Oy vey, I've been bogged down with videos since before Halloween (Halloween streeeams) and I've still got more to go, but I best get a move on and get at least one story down before another issue comes out. *Sonic the Hedgehog: Heroes and Villains - Part 2* 0:11 Nick Fury's bulldog expy everyone. There are no words for how cool that is. Thumbs up STC. Also, his line about tougher prisoners makes me wonder if he's just bluffing or if he's telling the truth. Based on how Meridian works... probably both. 0:20 Sonic: "Far more than I'd like, far fewer than I need." 0:26 Something something 'Chaotix wanted by the Police' set up, something something 'Charmy's Sting-er' punchline. 0:35 And here we see Lord Sidewinder, scowling because his cousin the big-shot police officer just referred to him as "this guy". 0:41 Story for another time perhaps? *Wink wink nudge nudge* 0:48 Furor: "Like 'why is my cigar floating?' for one." 1:04 The Fugitive, featuring The Chaotix. Eh, I'd watch it. 1:11 *Raises eyebrow* Wow, some omni-present time travelling super computer flat screen alien thing you are, Omni. What are their energy barriers made of, Antiplotdevicium? 1:19 Sonic: "And why are their rejected character designs for Disney's Gargoyles hanging around your garden?" 1:26 Sidewinder: "Mr Snake, Mr Fireplace Skull and Mr Might-Be-A-Wooden-Owl-In-The-Background." 1:32 Sonic: "Why were they just standing there, and how long have they been there anyways?" Sidewinder: "You know, I ask myself the same questions every night." 1:37 *Drum Roll* 1:44 Super: "Hello Daddy." 1:49 This part confuses me for the following reasons: 1) No Sonic, he doesn't understand; why would he? If Super Sonic is in his house, it's obvious that Super hasn't done his trademark rampage shtick yet and therefore Sidewinder presumably has little reason to mistrust him. 2) Sidewinder's rather dim. He looks cool, very intimidating design, but I know from experience he may be the least intelligent major baddie Sonic has ever gone up against. It honestly makes me wonder how he got into power to begin with being so proud and over-eager to trust potential backstabbers. 3) What did Super do to convince Sidewinder to do what he wanted without making him fear him like everyone else? 1:55 I point to Point of Confusion No.3 above. We're never given a reason why Sidewinder thinks Super Sonic can help him take over the world. While it's obvious he did something to convince him, I really wish we got to see what before the fisticuffs. 2:02 This panel makes me chuckle. Between Super's cheeky grin as he admits he's been playing Sidewinder for the fool he is, and a 'quite' posh way of stating this blatantly in front of him, you can tell that Super's soaked in some class while he was separated from Sonic. 2:09 Yup, pretty much what I expected would happen from a person meeting himself: the universe imploded. 2:13 Super's powers and sadism only ever seem to grow, don't they? It's great. :) 2:19 Sidewinder: "I think I pooped a little." ...What? His face wrote the joke for me. 2:30 It's the battle of the wonky sticky-out teeth! 2:36 For some reason I'm not entirely sure why, lines like that make me think of Spike from early Season 2 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Does anyone else see it? In any case, I certainly wouldn't object to James Marsters providing the voice of Super Sonic. That might just be me though. 2:40 You're looking a bit fuzzy there Super Sonic. Are, or rather, were you perchance trying to become a Werehog for Halloween? 2:54 It's scenes like this and the ensuing battle that do beg the question of exactly how powerful Super Sonic is. He's clearly shown to be stronger than the average Sonic villain like Sidewinder's goons, but Sonic's able to keep up with him fairly easily. 2:58 Then there are scenes like this where he tanks a Spin Attack with ease. I suppose the best way of looking at a Sonic VS Super Sonic fight is like the Knuckles VS Super Mecha Sonic fight in Sonic 3 and Knuckles, only without the periodic bouts of respite when Mecha Sonic needed to recharge on the Master Emerald. In that case, Super Mecha Sonic was faster, invincible, could fly and launch energy attacks, but at the same time Knuckles was able to keep up in many ways. The same principle from there applies here I guess. 3:04 I always love it whenever Richard uses the 'Elson Pose': arms out to one side, fists clenched, legs spread with one foot forward and a look of determination as the poser (usually Sonic) stares down whatever's facing them. Also, while they're in shot, but did you ever notice that STC Sonic's sneakers are a lot longer and flimsier at the top than in other games, where they are harder and have a shorter, more fixed shape? 3:10 Pfft! Super's reaction always makes me laugh every time. Super: "I'm an evil, sadistic, power hungry creature of chaos and I love nothing more than torturing my victims to death and destroying the lives of all who cross me... but don't you dare cuss in my house young mister or miss." 3:17 Goes to show how confident Super is in his power when he's paying more attention to Sonic than the big angry bio-waste container charging right at him. 3:25 Pfft, and he just tosses said bio-waste android thing away like a man flicking a fly. Whoever said you can't have fun with an evil superpowered version of the main character? 3:32 Super: "Happy belated Halloween everybody. Cherish it, for it may be your last if I break the fourth wall any harder." After last issue's slow start, I think it's fair to say that this issue got a LOT better very quickly, and from here on this is actually one of my favourite STC stories. While I jab at Sidewinder a lot (and will be doing every time he does something dumb) I actually do like him and his group a lot. It's just a shame he's got less brain than a ghoul on Friday when the ravenous zombie apocalypse started the previous Monday.

Sidewinder and his gang are pretty cool designs, this is the first issue that shows that Super has more intelligence than simply destruction, able to deceit and do deals with another being. It would have been interesting to where Super first came into the Special Zone and how Sidewinder found him and also how Super showed his strength for Sidewinder to know just how powerful he is! Next issue will be uploaded tomorrow evening, too tired to finish editing it tonight!

***** I love how varied the Sidewinder gang is, especially Lightmare and her powers. I do think it's a little redundant for him to have two brawlers on his team though, but I suppose Bio-Hazard is quicker to utilise than Fry, while Mr Fry looks to be much stronger and more athletic. I'd love to see how Super met Sidewinder. It's sad we never got to see their first meeting, considering that it's an important part in this story arc and just about every other featuring Lord Sidewinder and his pursuit of Super. Good to know I still have a little time left. I should have the last three parts done in the next few hours.
