That's what you have to do with every character. Before the Eggman fight, they don't throw away the Emeralds, they use it to go into hyper mode, which in this game makes you go really fast. You were probably joking, but I'll still post this.

You have to activate Hyper Mode. I've forgotten the exact button presses, but on the ground it's something like: "Back + 2(or three) of the buttons". It's listed at the end of the movelist in training mode. Check it out!

Haven't played this in a while this game is very addictive and fun to play. Versus mode was hilarious to play. 90's 3D sonic games have a both funny and great nostalgic moments. I just wish this game was still in the arcades. :(

I like a lot of the music in this game; it's really energetic like a lot of classic Sonic tunes. And yeah, I wish they would allow you to unlock Super Sonic rather than just play as him for a couple rounds; but being an arcade port, it makes sense that he's only available for a brief stint.

Getting this secret is extremely hard to pull it off, especially facing off the worse offenders like Espio (some degrees), Tails, Fang (some degrees), Sonic and of course, Metal Sonic (since he's the definition of SNK Boss outside of SNK fighting games).

No problem! It is a little tricky to get all the way through without losing a single round. Knocking out the shields like you see in this video, is a very important strategy.

Don't know which version you have, but... *The "Floor Sweep" attack is an excellent opening move (Diagonal down-left + Kick) since it knocks back the opponent and creates room. *Abuse the "Dodge Spin" attack. It breaks up to three shields, by the second use you'll have knocked out all the enemy's shields AND hit him. *"Hyper Mode" can be activated by pushing "Back" and a combination of buttons I've forgotten. It's usually mapped to an existing key though, for GCN it's "Back + R"

I believe you are asking what I pressed to transform into Super Sonic. If so, I, using a GameCube controller, pressed "R+Back" ("R" is a macro button for "A+B+K" in in-game terms I believe). That combo usually activates "Hyper Mode" but in this instance transformed my character into Super Sonic.

This game played on the Sega Model 2 arcade board, so it wouldn't be released as a NeoGeo game, unfortunately. The only way to get it is through "Sonic Gems Collection" at the moment.

You press back and P+Buttons to activate Hyper mode. It allows you to extend combos and allows you to cancel any attack into guarding or throws so you can evade counter attacks.

He was the only opponent with annoyingly overpowered moves, but there were some others that can get you, too. To name a few... Bark can pound you into submission, if you don't watch out, Nack can snipe you from a distance, and Tails has a couple moves that do suspiciously large amounts of damage.

I think he's talking about the fight itself in round 2, and I've said before that it wasn't as hot as I'd have liked it. Still, the main purpose of the video was to show Super Sonic - it was a hassle enough getting him unlocked so I don't care to go through it again.

You have to go all the way through without losing once INCLUDING beating Metal Sonic in the first round against him. Then you activate "Hyper Mode" in the second round, which is back and two buttons, probably punch and kick. It's a pain but that's the way it works.

Heh. Yes, Metal Sonic made me look a bit of a fool, I know. All I was doing was trying to avoid him for a while because of the limited time I had. It's basically Sonic in unlimited "Hyper Mode". This means all attacks can be strung together with no pause in between animations. The only extra thing I noticed playability-wise is that he also moves faster.
