it can be used effectively in 2D. Thing is, most hacks I've seen with it either use A) stolen code or something based on stolen code, or B) they don't try to design around it and just kind of tack it on.

I can never like hacks that have Homing Attack in classic sonic, it makes them too easy imo

Really not liking the level design. It feels like it's trying to be Sonic Megamix but also the original Sonic 1 at the same time. And the homing attack doesn't make it much better.

an ok hack but seriously homming atack is too op, make anything too easy, just spam it and you get to the end of the stage. Also for some reason, rom hackers never get how to properly level design. The make them too repetitive, lacking diversity and put too much stuff together making it look like a mess. You never see part of other paths in the original. In these things are so close you can see there are alternative path on the other side of walls. Looks bad, breaks immersion.

Lone Devil not perfect but definitely a lot better, makes me want to give it a try. Even with its air boost thingy, which isnt op like the ultra fast homming one, is well implemented and not op. I dare say it's better done than what they did in sonic adventures, which shouldnt have had it at all. (and actually makes sense, since he's a robot with a turbine on its back.)

Lone Devil Looks better but still though i like sonic 1, i always likes sonic 3's engine better mostly because of everything being smaller lets you see further ahead. I always felt kind of claustrophobic with sonic 1 and 2 because of that. I still like S3&K better (my fav), but being S3&K a 10, i give it a 9.50, mostly because of the above. I dont think you'd be willing to do something like that. BTW, just curious, never touched asm but any reason why you used sonic one instead of say S2 or S3 for the hack. I always thought S3 was better but seeing so many hacks use it (even megamix) I suppose there might be some reason other than aesthetics to use it.

Jack Turner-Bogdan Zivojinovic No, they are both the same, the difference is the way jingle is sounded. Sonic 3 has the 16-bit sound while Sonic 4 was suppose to mimick that but end up with "Dying Cat noises"
