We wonder the same, it’s really simple. Paramount sees these as competition when it comes to the revenue they make from people renting the film. They shouldn’t be allowed to take things down but when they do well…there’s a process that needs to run its course. Something fun about these movies is they actually made full-sized, accurate posable mannequins of Sonic, Tails and Knuckles in order to help the actors with sight lines and role immersion, they weren't just tennis balls on sticks

I hate this comparison because he's nothing like Drax. lol Knuckles isn't stupid in these movies. He also doesn't struggle to grasp figurative speech. Those were literally the 2 main aspects about Drax's personality that drove his comedy. I DO see the similarity in being overly serious warrior type where the overdramatic nature makes it funny. But I kinda see him more like early Thor.

Do you mean the original from the games or cartoon? I don't remember them talking in the games, but I stopped playing after Sonic 2 or 3 (though I knew of the Sonic & Knuckles game). At first I thought you meant the movies and I was thinking to myself "Noooo, the guy who did Sonic came back, too." Then I remembered that I hadn't played many of the games after the first couple, so maybe they spoke, and then I remembered there was a cartoon but I was older and never watched it.

@@mr.osclasses5054 Both. In 1999 (1998 in Japan) the games transitioned to 3D and had voice acting. Some characters will switch actors here and there, but overall, the general cast has switched twice, and the third cast (sans a few characters that changed VA's a few years in) have been voicing since 2010. In 2014, a cartoon called Sonic Boom came out with the game voice actors except Tails swapped out and that voice actress would continue the role of Tails in the games as well from then onward. She voiced in the after credits short of Sonic Movie 1 and they later decided to cast her for the movies going forward.

I still remember first seeing Shadow appear in the second movie which I found a video of, taking place in an empty room inside a theater with only two people in it, and I wasn't sure if what I found was real or not, so during the time I got to watch the movie in a theater with my father, and just when we were about to leave during the end of the movie, I told him that we shouldn't leave yet since there was something that might show in the credits of the movie, and just when I saw Shadow, a bunch of young kids were happy and saying Shadow when they saw him, just when everyone was leaving, and I found what I learned and found out from that video I watched was true, and it was real.

I was in a fully packed theater for this movie and in the mid credits when Shadow appeared more than half the people in the theater (myself included) screamed at the top of our lungs!!!!! And I loved that rather than get another famous celebrity they actually cast Colleen O'Shaughnessey who has voiced Tails for over a decade to play him. Not to mention how freaking amazing Idris Elba was as Knuckles. I mean since I saw this movie any time I am live texting with someone and those 3 dots appear I can’t help but say dot dot dot, dot dot dot, dot dot dot,🤣🤣🤣🤣

Just a little bit of Sonic trivia: 1. In the first movie, during the bar fight sequence, he consumed a few "chili dogs," and here in the second film, he eats one during the beginning of his vigilantism attempt and during the end when he goes Super Sonic. That's a reference to the games and the comics, where chili dogs are Sonic's favourite food! Similarly, when Knuckles asks them if ice cream "has grapes in it," it's because, also for Knuckles, grapes are his favourite food! All the Sonic characters have their own canonical favourite foods. 2. Sonic's dislike for water also comes from the games, being that you can't swim in them, which extends to Sonic, who also can't swim.

IIRC, the chili dog lore was actually from the US cartoons in the early 90s. Chili dogs aren't a thing in Japan, so "Sonic liking chili dogs" was something that was specific to the US side. It only started appearing in the games in the 00s when the Japan and US devs began to merge their version of Sonic's lore together.

They truly upped their game with this one, and they did a great job following up on a decent Sonic film. They cooked so hard with Idris Elba as Knuckles, alongside bringing forth Colleen O'Shaughnessey to the big screen by letting her reprise her role as Tails! And of course the rest of the cast was amazing. I know some folks don't care about the marriage subplot but I found it hilarious.

so interesting note about hedgehogs: irl when they run fast they literally poop at the same time and they do it constantly based on how long they run for. why bring this up? there is a correlation on why they added in the chili dog aspect to sonic. to also add it is one of the reason why its illegal to own a hedgehog mainly the sanitation requirements to keep their cages clean. the require the wheel so about almost everyday you gotta clea nthe wheel and around it.

The amount of people I alone know working that system and getting close to a grand a month from it, while working well-paying jobs and _not_ actually being applicable to the program is fuckin' sad. Then on the flip-side you have the people and family that actually DO need the help that struggle to see 300 when they're not being rigmaroled via the S.S. system. If the system was properly handled the taxpayers would wind up doling in less to it while the people that *are* struggling would get properly allocated credits to fill their needs, not just tempt it. Sadly between a faulty system and parasitic people, that's unlikely to ever happen.
