Gotta say Idris Elba was a surprise bomb. He is the best Knuckles I've heard and really gets the character. naive, strong, honorable, straightforward but not stupid. Knuckles is not the brightest bulb on the christmas tree but he does have a working brain.

Agreed! They made Knuckles a threat first and foremost, knucklehead-ish comic relief- ally/rival 2nd. Idris is the most intimidating Knuckles to date. he is a bit bigger than Sonic, ( not Sonic Boom big, but noticeable enough ). I like how when Knuckles crashes down to "greet" Sonic and Tails, you get a sense of his weight ( 1 million percent muscle does that to you ), he ain't brainy like Tails or Doctor Robotnik nor as fast and swift as Sonic but he has more brawn to make up for it, more than all 3 of them combined.

@@rororokaiIn the Sonic 3 video game, Knuckles doesn't even understand the world he's from and Robotnik does the same thing and tricks him to believe Sonic is the bad guy up until Robotnik steals the master emerald. Its a similar story to the one one in the movie but hes even dumber in the game because Robotnik still turns up for the boss fights when playing as Knuckes, just that Robotnik wears a mask and somehow Knuckles still thinks he's sonic.

Being 7 when Sonic 2 hit in 92 I'm glad i was able to be a kid when Sonic was at his best.. its still one of my earliest memories with video games... unfortunately Sonic(for me at least) has never been able to top that era especially Sonic 3 & Knuckles together..though there has been a few gems since 94 like The Dark Brotherhood ..Sonic has had more L's than W's but I really am glad these movies(especially being video game movies) are doing so well... hopefully it's the beginning of a resurgence for Sonic

I think the best things about these movies (for me) are that they aren’t whatever the writers want them to be or how they see sonic but rather they let the fans influence it. I remember when the first trailer for the sonic movie came out and it got horrible reception so they took all the criticism redid the trailer and polished the movie before it came out

Awesome movie with a lot of Easter eggs hidden in the film for fans of the games as well. The voice actors and on-screen actors were top notch. I loved Jim Carrey's over the top performance as the evil Dr Robotnik. I can't wait to see what they do for future films and if 'Shadow' is going to be introduced into the film lore...
