I'm not quite sure why but when I was a little kid watching my mother play this last boss fight it was really really intense for me and I don't remember if I ever tried doing this level. Having no rings to fight with didn't make me feel any better.

Don't be ashamed, He will always be serious business. It took me a couple years to finally beat him. And don't even get me started on the chaos emeralds. I never got to play as Super Sonic without a Game Genie.

i still remember the day clearly.... i was 14 yrs old, woke up one saturday morning, skipped cartoons and went straight for the Genesis. got all the way to the boss and FINALLY beat him after dozens of tries! woke up my parents right away lol!

@Tylerthehedgehog987 There is a 'Super Sonic' in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Sega Genesis, but you need all 7 of the Chaos Emeralds, collect 50 rings after getting the emeralds, jump twice, and there you have it. Though, I am curious, besides using cheats, is there a way to collect rings in the Death Egg Zone?

this video isnt as much of a clinic as it could be. When he lands and ducks down obviously is the best chance to hit him but also when he is about to take off, his legs contract a bit right before, this is also a great opportunity to hit him as well, but this guy doesn't do that. If he had, the fight would have been a lot shorter.

@autopreneur Centipede in Sonic 2 game gear. Its jaws take up about the screen, it conitually spits bombs at you, you can only attack it by jumping between the jaws WHILE ITS FIRING BOMBS, and you cant pick up rings again. After that, yeah he might be the hardest

on a side note - i've never realized that you can hit him from the front. i was always waiting for him to turn back to me so that i can jump just above the flames and hit him. didn't take 12 hits. more like 3 to 6.

This boss isn't too hard but it is easy to die. But if you think this is hard then get Sonic Adventure 2 battle for the Gamecube and fight the Biolizard. He is a NIGHTMARE.
